My friend has a song she bought (legally) online and wants to convert it to from protected wma to mp3 and put it on her Ipod.
My usual programs I use to convert stuff doesn't work. I get the message "this file cannot be converted because of a digital rights restriction".
Any way around converting protected files?

Well I like Ipod & iTunes as a product itself, but I don't buy digital music ever, so I didn't even know about this protection business. The only digital songs I've ever bought were those Memphis Bells mixes. I only buy CDs and then rip them myself, so I never have any problems with Ipod/Itunes. It's just another example of the record industry being total morons and punishing people who are legally purchasing their products. Why bother if you're going to have all these restrictions? Might as well just illegally download for free then.

or tell me what version and ill give u code..
This is for FairStars? If so, it asks you for User Name, Product #, Serial #.
Edit... I just tried the trial FairStars and it says it's protected by Microsoft and it can't convert it.

I don't get how this works, it's asking for me to "Recover Keys" then if I press that I just get an error message "IBX Components do not appear to be present"?
