I think Maxim's "Hell's Kitchen" is great.
He had something solid going, but completely dismantled it with the terrible "Fallen Angel."
I didt not like Flightcrank, just didn't do anything for me.
But "Hell's Kitchen" is really good... that album made me want Liam to let Maxim co-produce some tracks with him.

"Distort your mind, call up children of all kinds!"

weird shit.

Anyway, liam's djing was cool. I love how much anticipation there was for new prodigy stuff then. They were following up on FOTL and everybody thought anything new would sound AMAZING.

We had to wait 9 years for that :P

I remember going into my local CD store and seeing "The Dirtchamber Sessions" on the shelf, not knowing what it was. This was before I became a Brainkiller/find out every little frigging scrap of news that I can about the Prodigy online addict. So I thought it was new Prodigy. I remember picking up the CD in my hands and being like "Oh shit! They came out with a new album finally! I had no idea." Then when I got home and opened it up and threw it in my stereo and started playing it, I came to the sad realization that this was no new Prodigy album. But I still dug the mix and to this day is one of my favorite DJ mix albums. I wish there were more like it out there. Sure, The Chemical Brothers have their own... but it just doesn't come close to the epicness and scope of "The Dirtchamber Sessions." For one, Chem Bros has less tracks and having less tracks means that tracks go on for longer. I love how Dirtchamber is a huge mash up and sections can have dozens of tracks thrown in there. I would love a Volume 2 from Liam, but I doubt that we will ever get that. Especially since he said how he hated the behind the scenes aspect of getting permission for the songs. Unless he goes the route of releasing it for free that way he doesn't have to worry about getting the rights to tracks since he won't be making money off of the mix. I would love to hear a real full on mix from Liam without the worry of being hindered by record labels. Amon Tobin puts out great mixes. He put out one for Ninja Tune's Solid Steel mix series. He wanted to release another one during the "Foley Room" album era, but hit a roadblock with getting the rights to some of the artists in order to release it on CD. So instead of the scrapping it or altering the mix to cater to the labels, he simply put the full mix up for free online for download. By saying fuck it and not caring about selling it in stores, he just gave the mix to the fans for free... unchanged, unedited, exactly as he intended it to be. The "Foley Room" mix is an awesome and epic mix from him. Not only is he an amazing producer, Amon Tobin has grown into an amazing DJ. November will be the 9th time that I have seen him live... and only one of those was a non-DJ set, which was the mindblowingly insane ISAM live visual show. But his DJ sets are great and very diverse. And each time that I've seen him, his sets were always different. And no lie, his skills and sets just get better and better each time. I wish Liam would come back and do the DJ thing again. Nothing crazy, just some shows here and there across the globe. Have a little fun and mix it up. It would be a cool way to play some new material or sneak in some white labels.

Hell's Kitchen is a great, dark hiphop album.

Flint was also great. Production was a little poor, which added a kind of garage band effect to it, though, which was cool. the tracks had a great vibe. even Liam covered a few. they should've worked together on that.

love dirtchamber and the design of the cover/sleeves. nuff said. awesome compilation

it seems they kind of burned out after these releases. clever brains frying and fallen angel both were total crap in my opinion.

i still wish liam released ver.1 of aono and then would've followed up with the ver.2 with different ideas, but similar production. i love aono, but i also think the stuff he binned was genius. man... this topic is so overdiscussed, but cant stop thinking bout it and it never gets old

that's the thing. if you create something so otherwordly like the first 3 albums, you become so critical and paranoid of everything you write post that. i imagine...

I take back what I said about Hell's Kitchen being complete rubbish, I just listened to it in full for the first time in years and Worldwide Syndicates, Universal Scientist, Killing Culture & My Web are the bollocks! as is the bonus track Prism.

Regarding Liams DJing, I've only ever been impressed with the Breezeblock/Dirtchamber mix. The other stuff he done like Guest Mix & XL Recordings mixes sounded very rookie and the 2000 era DJ gigs weren't much to write home about - I'm sure Liam had fun though.

My thought is that her rather strict NO TO DOWNLOADS policy made people seek this forum instead, where forums are dedicated to downloads.

I remember the time before YaBB, when the world was black and orange.

Nekodays were good!

Nekosite couldn't host links to downloads mainly because of who read the site!

I don't think people went to Brainkiller instead of Nekosite. Most people will have gone to both. Nekosite had the news and in depth 'fan' interviews with The Prodigy. Brainkiller had news and downloads.

He was similarly unmoved when Madonna asked him to DJ at her London concert. "It was shite," he says, apparently untroubled by the fact that Madonna owns the Prodigy's US record label, Maverick. "She phoned me up at two in the morning. I was like 'How did you get my number?' And she said 'Come on, I'm Madonna.' I did it for the money. I got twenty grand. I liked the idea of playing the Sex Pistols and some other obscene shit to Madonna's fans, but I knew it wasn't going to be any good."
