Before, we used to analyse every track because it had LAYERS so there was something to admire, analyse, learn, etc. Thats not the case anymore. Plus, people have got to understand that the best motivation comes from a "starving" artist and not from somebody who is rolling in cash and champagne.
true, true.
all this is better than setlist "talk".
Liam has admitted himself, it's important to have mental hunger. they had it before IMD. maybe after immense touring shitt just cooled down little bit.

I got a idea: Why not split this thread in two. Make one real news-thread, and one whine and moan thread?
That way i know what thread that are worth reading.

I got many complains too like most of us.About the quality of the music Liam writes the last 12 years and the fact it takes him 5+ years for every album but i don't shit where i eat.I think Ekko got a bit carried away. That's all.

Let's just hope it's not post FOTL era again. Ekko was right about that.
our lives would be lot easier if Liam would update us when he scrapps half the album.
...saying it out loud really points how miserable position are we in.

i have no issues with Liam taking the time to write a proper album
that doesn't bother me and i've come to expect it. he needs a reason to write another album, the drive to sit down and bang something out. like someone said, it's very different being an already successful musician with a family. it's just not the same when you are younger and proving to the world that you are the best. The Prodigy already proved themselves to the world. so that takes away a lot from the drive and motivation to write a brand new album. Liam needs that launch track to get the ball moving. we can only hope that Rockweiler is that launch track that allows him to find his focus and purpose for the new album.
for me, what bothers me more is the broken promises. Liam always says he's going to do this or that and then we get nothing. that's what bugs me the most. they just haven't caught up to the new era of bands connecting with their fans online. Liam is starting to post some pics of stuff and we got some short clips of beats... which of course were slammed by fans and i doubt we will get more shit like that.
we never got No Souvenirs, we never got a Girls remix competition, we never got Dead Ken Beats, never got the IMD leftovers mentioned that had to be released before the new album, just things like that.
i feel that their Soundcloud is wasting away and can be utilized to share some cut tunes and demos. what's the harm is posting something like Trigger... or Nuclear... or No Souvenirs... hell, i'll be happy to just have a studio version of Thunder Dub or Colours remix. it's the little things like that would keep fans happy and content and less bitchy. even those demos played on the Zane Lowe show, fans would love to have a batch of demo beats... even if they were only a minute or 2 long.
it's just how the new era of being an artist is, you share stuff with your devoted fans.
when it comes to Liam taking years to write a new album... sure it's sucks... but it's not something i would bitch about. i rather have quality than a rushed album. been a fan since i was 10 years old and bought every single, EP, album that i can get my hands on. man, that was almost 20 years ago... i'm getting old.

I see many people complain for remixes,no b-sides,broken promises and not much feedback from Liam.
Imo the most important thing that most people here miss is that we wait like 5 years for every album but those albums (AONO,IMD) and the *HTSAJF new songs are MEDIOCRE.
Since when as fans we began to settle for mediocrity?
Yeah,i like many songs from IMD and AONO but still except Spitfire none of those songs could have been a first or second Single of the first 3 albums.
I think we are so hungry for tunes by Liam that we settle for mediocrity.
That is what we should be complaining about. Yeah still the band is no1 in our hearts but come on...give another listen to the old material and compare it with the new one.Yes times changed,Liam changed, family ect,he has nothing to prove now but the truth remains most of the new tunes are mediocre.
*Except if out of nowhere Liam drops 2-3 hidden bombs for the new album and i wish he does.

I love when people talk about, it's because of Liam's family life, that is reason for the lazy process. Hey, it's his work, we all work (most of us though). I would be fired ages ago, if I had a project, that lasted more than 1 or 2 years.

For an artist if i can call him this way having a family or even just getting older matters.
I bet if he finds his wife with another guy he is going to deliver the most dark, evil and bad ass album ever...or maybe he will throw everything away and start touring again

Just before AONO was supposed to come out, this article popped up:
http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/ ... 900147.htm
It goes on to show that children and marriage kill creativity. Sure, these days you can prove anything and the people questioned were scientists but there is some inevitable truth to that premise. I believe aggressive music (such as Prodigy's) can suffer a lot if the producer mellows down, regardless of the kids and family.
Btw. drugs kill creativity as well, no study needed to take that one seriously.
