i think it hasn't anything to do with time. i think it has to do with inspiration and the fact he will not repeat himself over and over again. same as all electronic music producers. "Do you wanna hear FOTL? Do not expect something new because it is already there! It's released back in '97"

But.. this brings up a new problem for Liam: what to write and produce next without repeating himself? Maybe a new style or genre? But without losing the Prodigy vibe, so essential for his music. Next to that, Liam being a perfectionist, will make it a bit harder to get satisfied when a track is done.

Take the guys from Daft Punk for an example. Their last album was 2005, 8 years ago and took a few years to finish (probably due to the fact of the Tron Soundtrack). Their new album released this year, is totally different from their earlier work, more disco (a bit too much Pharell imho) but you recon still the Daft Punk sound. I think Liam is looking for something like that. Same problem U2 is experiencing from the moment they released Achtung baby. Everything pre-1991 sounds almost the same, but post-1991 had to be a different style of sound until it collapses and U2 sucks in every way.

Also... still funny to see someone reply with tracks like Trigger, No Souvenirs showing up again! Reminds me of Pearl Jam releasing an album loaded with early and present recordings which never been released earlier. That is something i can expect from Liam as well.. but i don't know if it is fair to comply electronic music which basically is a set of several 'tracks' combined together with standard rock songs.. :?

I like Daft Punk, especially their first album. True what you say but still RAM has 2-3 really good songs.

When someone says he wants another FOTL he means he wants something as good as that album was at that time, not the same sound again. The brilliance Liam delivered to us with FOTL.

Btw when i wrote in a previous post : ''Yes times changed,Liam changed, family ect,he has nothing to prove now''

it was mostly to say that no matter what is the excuse someone might believe , the fact remains that the last 2 albums and the latest tunes are mediocre and that is what most of the fans should be bitching about, not for the lack of communication or some b-sides.

This is gonna sound a bit silly and cheesy but I really don't give a shit, the way I look at Liam now is like how I'd look at a former baseball player who was once the biggest home run hitter in the game. They may still have the ability in them to hit those out of the park home run's, but they just can't hit them as often as they used to.

And I'm alright with that, yeah, I still check up on here every day or every other day because I'm dying for some new stuff or even just any sort of REAL NEWS, but I'm not as annoyed with him as I used to be for taking so long to get some new stuff out.

Personally, I would love it if he went down the DP route but it seems unlikely. What DP did is surround themselves with people who are better musicians than they are. That is the core of their success. With RAM, they managed to reinvent themselves again. With Prodigy, its very hard to re-invent yourself if you keep producing the same ol bullshit every single time.

Ninja i disagree...i'm trying to convince people here that the problem is not only quantity but quality too but none here seems to agree.Maybe most stopped caring and moved on or something.

ChemicaL i agree with you but that is Liam's problem,he must find a way to solve it.I'm not angry with him,im thankful for all the amazing tunes.I'm just disappointed.Especially after i heard the HTSAJF era live version songs.
But what impresses me is that most people here worship anything that Liam will ''produce'' even if 90% is mediocre.

Daft Punk and Prodigy are two biggest and most genius, sampled oriented electronic/dance bands ever! Daft Punk went other way with RAM .. instead of sampling they are using flesh and blood this time. I can't see Liam doing that.

Maybe here is the dog buried. Maybe he has just ran out of good sources samples\inspiration to fuck around with.

One thing for sure, he is trying to bring more guitars in this time. I remember him complementing Korn's last LP, saying it was ahead of it's time. Maybe it just doesn't work so well... it didn't work with trigger and all that shitt. at least for him. he felt it it didn't have right energy.

i really hope we will get some real news in next few months.

Hey everyone!

First post in I think three years. I was actually just checking to see if any updates existed for this rumored new album.

Anyways, my two cents:

No matter the band or artist (unless your name is Ty Segal or Ryan Adams) continue to release albums at a relatively quick pace for all that long. Hell, NIN took five years to release their third full length! Most bands take longer and longer and longer the more albums they have under their belt.

My best guess is you'll have something to hear by next summer, just in time for The Prodigy to cash in on some festivals (Europe and USA).

Well, Liam is using a new studio now, and next to producing music from and for others, the only other thing he can do there is ... besides banging his wife, use the newest equipment and tools to get loose and make some tunes he can really fill an album with.

Now, let's listen to that good ol' FOTL! :)

Actually, I think we are are saying the same thing. I just wasn't clear in using my silly old baseball player analogy. However to further explain my point I'm just gonna have to use it again. I'm not saying that every time Liam steps up to the plate that he is hitting home runs. He can still hit, but isn't hitting the ball far. (No more silly analogies from now on I swear!)

In regards to the new stuff from HTSAJF, I have not been excited with any of it up until the RATM sampled track.

Yeah we are saying the same thing.Btw Rockweiler is by far the best track we have now from HTSAJF but i think it needs more work.

Time will tell :)

even if the new tunes aren't up to the prodigy standard from the 90s according to some people here and i agree to some extent, i still love it more than every other bullshit that I hear elsewhere :) (there are some exceptions for sure and i wish people would prove me wrong, do it in pm though cos we dont need to hijack the topic)

So yeah im happy with those recent live recordings i'm enjoying them. An album would be nice but i can wait cos i've never been disappointed by the prodigy when something new came out :)

If he's producing at a lower rate nowadays because he's a family man then i can only salute, he's earned it. If it's the drugs and champagne... then that's just too bad for him and us. It's actually very sad for maxim cos he's always in such a good shape, giving 100% in the shows... while liam and keith look really bad these days. Keith often reminds me of this ozzy osbourne person when he starts talking. You hardly understand him and it doesn't make any sense. it's sad cos during most of the imd era he looked very good and energetic on stage... now he's getting fat and lazy again, little energy on stage compared to before... (of course still nothing compares to 90s prodigy ^^) i'll stop talking now.
