Pacific Rim (2013)

Not a fan of the giant monsters/robots genre but this one's directed by Guillermo del Toro so had to check it out. A solid fun popcorn movie with a heart. Stars the always excellent Idris Elba.

The Great Gatsby (2013)

I still prefer the 1974 film adaption over this one but that said Baz Luhrmann has made a great job at adapting Gatsby for modern day movie audiences (i.e. teens). Luhrmann's typically over-the-top style and direction suits the story very well.
