although tastes a bit like those fancy conspiracy theories, i wouldnt be surprised at all if it were true. but of course im a little prejudicial since i hate the whole rap theme stuff, this whole "Im the tough guy, i grew up on the streets, so i am such a great philosopher, now listen to me, you might learn something young padawan", y'know. i dont wanna be mean here, but rap music - if you are willing to take a look - is nothing but 3 or 4 rhythms playing through the entire 4 or 5 minutes, maybe occassionally changed a little during the refrains. kinda boring. and obviously, no rapper can sing, that's why they rap
however, I can believe that rap music might have an influence on people to act violently, but then again, isnt it true for all kinds of arts? i dont really think rap would be the only music which encourages criminal behaviour. its just a question of what u choose to do. there is a great distance between liking a music and doing what it tells u.
thats why i kind of despise people who wear clothing like "iron maiden" or "slayer" or - of course even - "the prodigy". its like they are an open commercial. find it kind of slavish. they clearly advertise that they have no "own" thinking, not to mention own personality, they just kinda copy-paste someone else, being controlled.
