I was wondering if the main vocal hook of the prodigy track poison is some kind of common english saying because my neighbor had been blasting radio all day and all of the sudden these lyrics caught my ear (lyrics taken from lyrster (A lyrics website)
"Dance with me, cause if you've gots the poison, I've gots the remedy"

"The Remedy (I Won't Worry)" is the first single released by American singer-songwriter Jason Mraz from his debut album Waiting for My Rocket to Come in 2002. The song is about a good friend of Jason's, Charlie Mingroni, being struck with cancer and how it changed Jason's outlook on life. Occasionally, while performing this song during his shows, Jason would include a singalong with the audience to Oasis's "Wonderwall." This song was his first Top 40 hit, reaching #15 on the US Billboard Hot 100. He would not have a second until 2008's "I'm Yours."
From Wikipedia.
So cancer is the poison, Jason Mraz has the remedy. Yada yada, nothing related to Prodigy, maybe a wink. At best.

I never knew why maxim says "I got the poison" while he sould say "YOU got the poison" as he often does on live gigs when he states "if you've got the fucking poison, i've got the fucking remedy". I always thought the "pulsating rhytmical remedy" is simply: prodigy music, so it's me, the listener that has to have the poison.
However, I don't think it would be a phrase or anything like. just some slogan rather... as it so often happens when it comes to prodigy lyrics.

From the Electronic Punks book by Martin Roach :
Liam explaines:
"I wanted to bring Maxim into the picture a bit more and that track came together very well. He tried a few lyrical idea but they weren't working, then he came back with the Poison lyric which is not a rap or reggae or anything.
I like it, there were drug ambiguities in there as well, and as a result of the buzz that idea gave me, the track was finished very quickly. I really enjoyed writing it and it is a stand out track for me. It is a mix between hip-hop and techno and Maxim works perfect on there.
Ironically, that track is also perhaps the most autobiographical I have ever written. Hip-Hop was the first style of music I was really into and that track has a lot of that element."
Case closed.

Look the lyrics mean he's got the poison and the remedy, the problem and the solution, the crowd and the banging music.
