- Summary for anyone who can't be arsed going back a few pages -

THE PLUS - The production on Rockweiler sounds promising.

THE MINUS - It's called Rockweiler

MORE MINUS - As a result the lyrics are probably their worst yet

BONUS MINUS - See potential single cover artwork below

Rockweiler on the album will be pretty damn close to the latest live version.

Too late for Liam to change it completely out of the blue.

I'm afraid so.
If it really should change and become a proper song and less straight forward, I'd be very glad.
Thing is, Liam showed more than enough he's capable of doing what the majority of other artists producing electronic music struggle to do: Producing music that works equally good in the living room / on headhones and live.

Right now it looks like they don't care about those folks that like to get lost in music at home, but rather have the drunk festival crowd jump around and party. Which is a group I belong too as well. But, you know, I want both. And I only want it because I know they can do it, it's not that I'm asking for the impossible.

And as for the Beat 55 --> Omen thing:
I'm repeating myself: Omen is not a cool sounding track. Sure, that's my opinion. But it sounds pre-setty and so fucking squeeky, there's really nothing cool about it, I thought it was a joke the first time I heard it. I know lots here like it and I don't wanna step on anyones toes. But it's probably my least favourite Prodge track.

Of course he doesn't care about the living room moments anymore. He used to do that when he was a living room producer. Im afraid playing big crowds brings in boomey tracks that lack depth. Who da fuck wants depth when you're kicking your best friend in the head with a bottle of beer, right? :D

I agree with pretty much everything said here. Im just hoping Rockweiler is this album's Fuel My Fire, lol. But its not. Seems like they're pushing for it to be a single.

And don't get me started on Omen. That track should have been called "Oh, Man". Whenever I hear it, I squint my eyes a little bit and turn down the volume.

What the fuck u have guys with this The Day track... It's the most shitty The Prodigy track in their career.

Surprise? Do You remember how he surprised us with Mescaline? Live version was better ;)

My overall opinion:

How To Steal A Jetfighter, nice album title. Like it but it's gone now... ok, no cry. Next thing is a Jetfighter track... Im very very very happy that this track is gone... As i said many times very shitty track, sounds like a demo of a demo, messy and chaotic. After two years no changes...
I will miss Dogbite ;) Nice a lil bit beastie boys style track. Next thing? Awol of course. Nice punky track like a Fuel My Fire, Nuclear, Warning and Run mixed together. Ohh and the second version of Awol played once at Bratislava... Still my favourite. Dark, heavy and brutal track :) Another thing is Get Yoyr Fight On track. Nothing special but cant wait to hear this completely new version for the album ;) And the last thing - Rockweiler ;) First version as many ppl said is a RATM ripoff. Second version is too dnb, non the prodigy style. Third version is just ok... like the bridge. Now we have fourth version which is very nice ;) Love these sinister, electric guitar riff but this new bridge at the end is awful... too melodic and postivie, very close to the imd style.

So:

Rockweiler
Get Your Fight On

Awol (Bonus Track)

Do You remember how I said 'every first new album listening session'? I'm surely referring to Experience, MftJG, FotL, AONO, IMD and not a Their Law bonus disk. That's not al album. It's a bonus disk. Every first track on each album is BOOM, and then the albums go left, right, unexpected directions etc. Mescaline as a demo b-side track has fuck all to do with what I'm saying.

Gonna try and say it again, why can't Rockweiler on the album have a different track title and be totally different altogether? :)

http://youtu.be/qM9Wuw44xTU?t=37s

changed into

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsV9wbTFvDE

most of the new version is new, just the xylophone part remains! So now, why be so sure now with Rockweiler?

Trigger into Shoot Down is another example, also different parts of different live tracks bleed into entirely new tracks. Climbatize and Narayan share samples, IMD has SMBU/Funky Shit elements, you can keep going. Liam does this all the time. At this point I'm sure Rockweiler as we know it is different from the one that might be mixed/mastered at this very moment. Liam need that BOOM effect when people play that new album, he said he doesn't really like to give away surprise elements. So, yeah. I don't know why you guys are so sure about Rockweiler yet.

At this point I hope we're all Rick Rollweiler'd by Prodigy once the album drops because Rockweiler sounds unfinished and somehow not album worthy in its current form ...yet.

All the tracks are written. He's just touching up on them.

Beat 55 to Omen was a case of a song being scrapped and a sample in the scrapped song being used for another track written entirely new.

Gun to Shootdown is more of a demo to finished track.
Completely different scenario.

Just want to add my opinion.... It's weird for Liam to say all the tracks are written but still appear to be writing Rockweiler? I mean he added a whole new bridge a day after playing this latest version of it... Doesn't sound right.

Anyway I like Rockweiler but guarantee it won't be a single. more of a Run With The Wolves track on Invaders. Very loud and obnoxious but not radio friendly

this

i think liam's still got it. its all documented and said a 1000 times, but he's in his comfort zone and writes simpler and shorter tracks to bang live. i really loved aono. it really seemed he was working his ass off and tried something new (bought laptops, that "digital" sound etc) - edgy as fuck. i feel that keith and maxim could be the thing that's wrong with the album writing process at the moment, like they did with imd - they wrote as a band. sure liam wrote all the beats and the fundamental parts on himself as he's used to, but it seems like all the pre-imd stuff on the physical side was more Liam Howlett and less Prodigy. i wish he'd write an album on himself, with a few collabs, and a few tracks with keef/maxim vocal samples, poison stylo. the potential that this guy has just cannot be wasted on instagram and champagne or pendulum-like electronic rock for boozed up hippies.

and as for The Day... it's maybe a lil too trappy, i agree, and rather simple BUT the vocal, those breaks and the flow is just perfect. he should totally go back to breaks. it reminds me of the early days - uplifting, wicked vocal samples, maxim goin crazy

Jeez, the ONLY similarity between the two tracks is the xylophone part, so people should finally STOP saying Beat 55 changed into Omen... its a different track altogether.

I think this is Liam's big mistake.Yeah sure it is good to get the energy from live shows and write music but half of the songs of the album must have a depth and a 6-7 min length so the song can evolve...not just a loop ,a small stop, repeat and end.
I always loved to watch the band live but i love to listen to their albums with a drink sitting on my couch or when i'm driving my car for hours too.

A music album is in a way like a movie...even on the best action films you can't have killings, chases and gore scenes for all the duration of the film.

I don't know if anyone agrees with me but the album should have a variety of songs. You can't write an album based on the reaction of the people who dance on a live show. You cant just throw 2 good live songs,5 mediocre and 2 shitty and call it an album.

I Really hope Rock is not the first or second single
I like it a lot and i believe it is the best song compared to the rest he wrote the last years , but defenately not worthy as a first or second single on a Prodigy album.

Live shows is really where the money comes from. So Im not surprised he's working on a retirement plan.

Once they stop touring, he might go back to writing tracks that are more akin to home listening.

I was never really a huge fan of Omen to be honest...
But for me, the current version of Rockweiler is miles better than Omen.
I just like the vibe and sound much more than Omen.
I'm sure the finished version will be different from what we are hearing live.
I'm not really into the normal rock version of AWOL.
Wish Liam would develop that Bratislava version into something.

With Liam working on things, it can go two ways...
Beat 55 turning into the much better Omen
Or...
Trigger being ruined and turned into Shoot Down

Also Mescaline was much better live before Liam changed it to the released version we have.

I don't think Liam is trying to push rockweiller as a single. Remember IMD era. They played WOF for very long tme and on album we got slightly different version of it but it wasn't single. As a first studio track we heard invaders must day which blew me off and than omen. 2 tracks we never heard before.

Yeah! And Omen is the worst prodigy single ever, with all this disgusting commercial sound, lots of DIOYY bullshit, boy band style vocals, and of course "runned over cat" style of singing NOW, NOW, NOW, NOW, MEOW, MEOW.

Oh Man man man man man! Tuuu tuuu tuuu tuuu tuuu tuuu tuuuu :vomit:
