WD is a good song but that fucking distorsion killed it for me.

I remember someone that downloaded the album when it leaked wrote here: ''i think that distorsion is that tracking thing the web sheriff was talking about''...

I wish it was because it was horrible.I remember someone did a version who was close to Liam's but without the distorsion and it was much better.

Omen was sort of received by dance music folks with derision and indiference.

One of the Pendulum guys said that Noisia's remix of Omen is what the tune should have "been" in the first place.. wich one of the Noisia chaps agreed with. Here:

around 5:48. Also, stuff about The prodigy being "disappointing, these days"... joking about Pendulum suing the prodigy for ripping off the Pendulum sound etc. etc.

It's a bit weak in the production department. Catchy but not really a tune that i play again and again.

Rockweiler, on the other hand.. sounds very very good. It actually sounds like a "modern" tune... instead of a production that a couple of kids could have done in their basement (It sounds like substandard Does it Offend You, Yeah?).

"Omen was sort of received by dance music folks with derision and indifference". Well Pendulum would know all about derision and indifference. Pendulum weren't exactly held in high regard by Drum & Bass purists. Probably because they had big success. The underground music scene can get very bitchy. Liam proved the point when he embarrassed the 'taste makers' with the 'Earthbound' white labels.

Would the people in that video have said what they said if Liam had been in the room? No chance, they'd have been kissing his arse. Would they have said what they said if they'd known the video was going to be uploaded to Youtube? I highly doubt it. As Des on Neko's said at the time, "It's just a bunch of artists sitting around smoking each others bones".

The original Prodigy version of 'Omen' would never have sounded like the remix Noisia came up with because The Prodigy don't write Drum & Bass tracks. That's why they get Noisia and the like to do a Drum & Bass remix.

I guess liam didnt give a shit about the vid.. or doesnt know. Afterwards the Noisia fellas got to remix SMBU. Whatever, anyway.

The earthbound stuff reminds me that around 2004.. Liam said in an interview that he had put out other tunes on white label......

so there's other liam howlett material going around that nobody has unearthed yet.

Well for me it seemed like it was some other guy (Pendulum one?) saying the remix is how the original should have been, to which Noisia guy jokingly agreed "well that's not how I wanted to put it but yeah whatever", along with the mood that the video is made (backstage not-even-half-serious bullshit mood) I wouldn't hold that "opinion" as something he really agrees with... Note though, I like Noisia much so I will blindly defend them no matter what, I guess.

And he is absolutely reight! Noisia remix saved the single and it is masterpiece! Original version is shit, edit version is even shittier. Video is terrible and stupdly done also. As I said, worst prodigy single track ever. They have few worse non-single tracks of course, like Shoot Down, Get Up Get Off, RWTW!

Don't try to compare it with Rockweiler. Rockweiler is by miles better track now.

I thought BGAT was much better than Omen.

(Fuck what Liam said, he have some other reasons) BGAT is pure prodigy power! Fantastic track with maybe the best beat of all prodigy songs, massive production, great tweaking, lots of great dark samples, powerfull and strong vocals. And it has real lyrics. Not just one phrase repeated over and over and over (like Omen, RWTW and many others). And production of Dub Mix is even more impressive.

We all know prodigy guys CAN'T write lyrics, they totally sucks there. FLINT guys were much better in it.

Ah... memories! I was there on this gig, and this track was soooo good! Of course Beat 55 feels like not yet finished demo, but this one is for sure best prodigy demo we ever heard!

I think Omen is mediocre .It doesnt feel like a Prodigy song.Makes me love BGAT more than i already do.

Fuck Shoot Down...i loved the Trigger live version. I wish there was a really good recording of it. It was so badass...the opposite of Omen.

btw lol has anyone realised that if Liam keeps writing an album every 5-6 years this forum will be like a communist party gathering?
We will know when someone is dead if he is not here to comment on the new album
