Hey guys,
So I friended the host Presley Kik from the D.R.A.G. Radio Show and asked him about what the names of the exclusive Prodigy tracks. He actually wrote me back.
First message...
"thanks for you friend request Michael. Got your message re The Prodigy tunes we've been playing on Drag Radio every Wednesday recently."
Followed by...
"They are called Dog Bite, AWOL, Jetfighter (although we thing that last one may be a sound desk recording) Hope that helps."
He thinks the last one is a soundboard recording? Sounding kinda fishy, especially since we know these tracks are the ones that are not meant to be on the album. I wonder if he just has live recordings someone ripped or these fan made reworks or something. I'm trying to dig for more info, keeping the convo going.

Maybe he's been playing Matthias' and Rapraiz's remakes?

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Plus he said they'll be getting more play on upcoming shows. So we'll get to hear them again on the Wednesday coming.

Well, the fact that they think Jetfighter alone is a "sound desk recording" most likely means it's a live version-based remake, and the other two are "proper" remakes which don't sound like a live recording. I guess you prefer to catch those guys red-handed instead of potentially proving them wrong beforehand by giving them links to those remakes? I'm not judging tho, personally I dunno which one I'd prefer to do.

I wasn't thinking anything like that as in my intention is not malicious. Not trying to be like "Ha! Gotcha! Bullshit artist!" lol. It would suck to be a radio host promoting something as an exclusive new thing from a band meanwhile not realizing it's a fan remake. Though as a radio show host, I would be a bit more careful in what I was playing on my show if it wasn't given to me directly by the band and/or its management or at least received confirmation from the band.
I was actually thinking of approaching the host and asking how exactly he came across these tracks... something directly given or found... and explain that he may be playing a fan remake. Then showing him these said remake and seeing if it's the same material. I'm not out to ruin anyone.
Fan remakes always bug me, especially when it comes to new, yet to be released material and not labeled properly. But then again, you do get producers that do in fact label it properly but it gets reposted without said labels. I wouldn't mind a remake of material after we know that it's actually not going to be an officially released song. But I really hate these fan remake vs actual artist material mix ups that occur before an imminent release because it can seriously derail a band's cred and new album build up.
Such as, look at all of these fake Aphex Twin album posts lately... these really frigging piss me off. Just please don't intentionally try to label your music as someone else's. I don't care how great it may be now that you already ruined (or Kanye'd) the experience for me. Nothing you can do will redeem yourself.
But I still even find posts on sites from back during the Invaders Must Die lead up days where people are bashing a collection of fan remakes thinking it's the actual Prodigy album. Trust me, there's a lot of idiots out there... I bet you that there's someone out there who didn't give the real Invaders Must Die a chance because they thought the fan remake/fake release was the legit promo.
But then again, you can justify it as "Well hey, if someone is dumb enough to believe that this is the actual new release from The Prodigy then good luck, good riddance, and farewell."
P.S.
I think that I'm gonna create a new hashtag...
#Kanye'd

Well I wrote to the host that I've been speaking to in regards to these exclusives and asked how he got the tracks... were they from the band/management directly or just found online/shared from someone who may have stumbled upon the fan remakes. I also gave links to someone of the fan remakes and Soundclouds dedicated to it. Let's see what he says. If they're the same. I was just like "I don't wanna see you promoting the wrong thing and getting in trouble or your show losing any cred if by accident you're playing not an actual song from the band."
In the message that he posted previously he said they would keep playing the exclusives on the next show on Wednesday. So if theses tracks that I sent him don't match up with he's got, then our asses better tune in to check out what's being played.

Cheers for clearing that up and yeah, please ask him if you can, I'm quite intrigued.

Wait, what?
There are really rumors about Kanye working with The Prodigy?
Please don't be true... please, please, please don't be true.
Kanye is such a disrespectful, egotistical douchebag who has to surround himself with people who actually have talent.
I'm sure you guys read how he tried to get away with sampling Aphex Twin without even asking or getting permission on top sampling it quite horribly and half assed and being a dickhead to the dude he ripping off.
Straight from RDJ...
“Is it a sample? I actually don't know what it ended up being in the end, I'm so slack. I know that he tried to fucking rip me off and claim that he'd written it, and they tried to get away with not paying. I was really helpful, and when they first sent it to me, I was like, ‘Oh, I can re-do that for you, if you like,’ because they'd sampled it really badly and time-stretched it and there was loads of artifacts. I was like, ‘I'll just replay it for you at that speed if you want.’ And they totally didn't even say ‘hello’ or ‘thanks,’ they just replied with, ‘It's not yours, it's ours, and we're not even asking you any more.’”
AFX literally got Kanye'd
Waiting to hear back from the show's host Presley and will let ya guys know what happens. We'll get to the bottom of these shenanigans. And if it by some miracle it turns out that he has actual new studio material, we gotta get that!
