I can't get the logic of this idea! First of all who cares about our favourite old guys? Who knows them? Ok, let's leave the album a surprise. Who will be surprised? ..Me and you! Nobody knows The Prodigy, simply because they have released only 2 albums in 16 years and that's everything but normal. And actually what a surprise would it be after 5 so boring years, with over 100 gigs, in which 97% of the setlist has been the same. Sorry but let's be honest, it would be a much bigger surprise if they play something new in the next gig, than the new songs in the new album itself..

This. When FOTL was released the only track I hadn't heard was Climbatize. Narayan and Mindfields both cropped up on Radio 1, Serial Thrilla broke cover, the night before the launch, on Radio 1's live Glastonbury coverage and all the other tracks had been live staples for a couple of years at least. The album was supposed to be a representation of the live set at the time, but I'd heard them all before the release. There were no surprises. I want another 'Rhythm Of Life' moment, where I go "Holy fucking SHIT!!!!!!!! LISTEN TO THAT!!!". I hadn't heard that track before I got the 'One Love' EP and it was completely unexpected. THAT'S what I want.

Iam angry because it is 5 years again but i would not like to hear half or most of the album live before it is released . Maybe 1 more song if the album has 12 songs and Rot is one of them.
I agree one one thing though. Most of the people who are under 22-25 dont know or remember the band. They might recognize a song but that's it .

For an album that is (apparently) on the final mixing stages right now since August....
coming out 4 or 5 months from now is really really poor form.
Not surprising, though.

Apparently. They might as well be changing things about here and there and mixing electronic music nowadays is often times just an extension of the writing process. Maybe they got tough schedules (drinking champagne, attending festivals), too, slowing things down.
Well, anyways, we got a date.

First quarter of next year is not a date.
It's just as accurate as their previous announcement which was end of this year (meaning Q4).
