And i've just found some wicked remixes of Diesel Power that hit so hard that Liam should probably drop the "pain" version he's been playing for a while and use one of those
PM me if interested

Dunno if it's gunna be a single, and if it was, well, it's not shit so I suppose some gigs with them or summat.
https://www.normanrecords.com/features/sleaford-mods#I love his attitude, it's more authentically "up yours" and down to earth than the Prods themselves to be honest. Stuff like this makes me laugh: Quote: 6. Would you go on Jools Holland if asked? How would you get round the obligatory 'honky-tonk piano' accompaniment?
He wouldn't invite us you can just tell. Fuck his piano too.

So I've been chatting with Same Old Sean and asked if "Rotting Hill" is also an LH production...
NEOREV wrote: is there anything you could tell me about you working with Liam Howlett's production? i know "Laydown" is an LH beat, curious if "Rotting Hill" was another LH production? love both tracks, sound immense with your vocals. SAME OLD SEAN wrote: "Curiosity killed the cat"
Yes, he used the quotations when saying "Curiosity killed the cat" followed by a winky face.
I think "Rotting Hill" sounded like a better version/mash up of "Black Smoke" and "Fighter Beat"

They haven't played diesel power live since early 2013.

Still, they probably should put on some new version or something

Laydown sounds a LOT better than The Day. Same Old Sean killed it and really made the beat work. Hope the Martina Topley Bird vocals from the original landed on some other album track.

yeah, i quite enjoy what Same Old Sean did over The Day beats because on its own it wasn't really much with just the female vocal repeated.
Rotting Hill is also an excellent track.
even if they are just scraps that Liam gave to him, there is a positive outlook... these songs sound much smoother and phatter than the harsher IMD era production. and that's the one thing that i want with the new Prodigy album, just a bigger and phatter sound that IMD was missing.
everyone moaning about wanting to hear new stuff and unreleased LH material... well here you go! your time has come and no one is really even chatting about it. what gives?

I think it's because of the new album anticipation. Everyone is on the edge of their seats. Recording/Mixing/Mastering is done. An announcement is coming very very soon.

Sorry but that track is shite.
Not digging the beat at all either, just sounds like some weak dubby stuff. Glad it's not on the new album. Much preferred the sound of it from that live recording.

your not digging the beat because there is no beat. just those weak drums. kinda like the one on that horribly bad thunder dubstep remix liam did.

Agreed. Sounds bad. No punch, just flabby noise.

Such a shame.
"The Day" had the potential to be a unique Prodigy production.
I feel that the choice to remove the female vocal sample "killed" the whole purpose of the tune.
The sound design is way cheap...nothing creative about it.
The beats are weak and the hi-hats are extremely annoying.
The structure of the tune is not interesting.
Even the "top" of the breaks dropped towards the end (to help with the progression of the tune) didn't work properly.
Overall, it is a bad production (and a bad collaboration).
Demo-ish stuff with hip-hop vocals on top........not exactly my cup of tea.
