really?

there's absolutely nothing different from Laydown to The Day EXCEPT for the female vocal being gone and replaced with a rap. the same people who love The Day call this track weak when there's nothing different from the music. you're hearing the same exact backing track and production played in Brixton except it's not on a huge sound system and the download is only 160kbps. i just can't understand someone praising The Day and knocking Laydown's production. if The Day still had the female vocal, the mix would sound exactly the same. The Day was boring and nothing more than just a loop with a female vocal repeated over and over. it works a lot better with a rapper over it. plus the version up on Soundcloud for DL is only 160kbps, but that makes a HUGE different in overall sound.

but i can't really understand someone praising The Day and hating on Laydown. if you don't like the rap... fine. but as for the music, it's the same exact tune just not on a system and with Leo drumming live over it.

it's just another one of those times when folks here keep on asking for something we heard live and when we finally get it we crap all over it and then wonder why we never get unreleased or rare stuff.

well there you go, a valid opinion you can't argue with :-D

you either just simply hated both...
or
you just don't like the rapping...

but if you knock the production, that means both The Day/Laydown were weak to begin with and neither were superior to other one.

apparently people love the live recording better, so just go play the Laydown track really loud on some speakers and a sub and record it with your phone camera and TAH-DAH!... you now have the superior sounding version you love.

i'm happy to see Liam hooking up with proper MCs/rappers instead of the usual garbage all over the airwaves. here in the States crap like Kanye West and Lil' Wayne pass off as great rap music... the scene is just terrible and turned into a joke.

Give me more Same Old Sean
Give me more K. Flay
i'll take them over what's considered popular any day

and i hope Liam keeps on collaborating with 'em

I actually believe that the rap vocals fit into the track and are quite cool. But the production is weak. I had higher expectations for The Day after hearing the Brixton recordings, and obviously, that's because it was played on a big soundsystem there, it didn't lack bass so much, and I assumed we don't hear half of the stuff there anyway (for example, just compare Exit's AWOL to recordings that we had prior to that, I felt like listening to a different song).

I think i can help you with this one.

If you have a bad recording people will critisize (praise/diapprove) it, based on it's potential to turn in to something interesting.
I can explain it further if you want.

again....we simply can't know how it would end up in the album.
Beats could change, sound design could change, structure, instrumentation, ect.

Well that's your opinion and i don't have a problem with it.. i just don't find it interesting.
Imo a version with a heavier rich baseline, played in these keys with the proper sound design "surrounding" it and with this sample would create a very interesting contrast.
A mysterious, dark and very unique atmosphere.

Anyone who thought the day would be on the album didn't listen to liam who said in the brixton 2012 video that we wouldn't start hearing new album stuff until 2013 which is when rockweiler and get your fight on were first played (confirmed album tracks). Since the day was only played at one show, and the band always talks about if something doesn't work they scrap it, why did people think the day would evolve? It's like diesel power. Make it an instrumental and there's no substance. Adding lyrics though gives it the potential to be amazing. Screw up the initial beats though and no lyrics can prevent it from sucking, laydown's problem.

The only song i like from the pre-new album era is Rock and i'm happy that Liam binned or gave to others the rest of the songs.
It is sad to see that most of the fans have set the bar too low.

I liked dogbite very much and it did great work live, better than jetfighter for example. Hope we will hear it as a b-side or maybe lost beats pt2.
