good to know
I have a feeling we won't have any "real news" leaking 'til then, and that perhaps this thread will go on sleep mode for about the next 2 weeks
amirite?

It actually means that we're getting an announcement before that interview.

Oh, I thought it would be the announcement itself, or that the announcement would be simultaneous
I don't have a feeling it could be in between Christmas and New Year's Day, so it would either be before 24th of December or after 2nd of January (once again, am I right?)

Yeah same font, only difference is the "the" is on top. It was on the side during the IMD era.

this will always be my favorite logo...
but i really wish we got an official release with this one...
(i understand why they went with it for IMD cover, but this one above is so much better. so disappointed with the switch.)

Yes, I agree. This logo had a lot of promise!

Going back to the album, who else thinks we've been through another scrapped album era?
We all know that AONO MK1 was canned, with tracks like Nuclear, Trigger among others. I personally think that 'How to steal a jetfighter' was pretty much there, but the album got canned. I know the tracks we heard didn't go down too well with people on here, maybe Liam saw sense?

I don't think Liam was ever as far along with the tracks until he went into SARM Studios with Neil. He just had a bunch of half finished track ideas before with no real structure. I just think his inspiration and direction changed that affected his choice of which track ideas to go with and where to take them. With the Jet Fighter announcement, he had a cover and that was his inspiration. He never really had nearly finished tracks. I think at once point he saw that the Jet Fighter image wasn't giving him the real inspiration that he needed and the vibe of what he wanted to come back with was wrong. I really don't think there was some mass throw out of finished tracks like he did with AONO v1.0 where half an album was scrapped. I just think he got a new image in his head and that helped him in deciding which ideas to move forward with. Once pieces of the puzzle started coming together and there was a cohesive vibe he saw the Jet Fighter image really wasn't the statement he wanted to make. Sure, ideas were probably thrown out along the way. But I don't think there was some start over where things were completely scrapped. What worked was kept to be shaped and re-shaped into finished tracks.

Yeah, maybe. I mean, Liam said something like he wasn't happy about the writting in the last years in one the the last interviews, right? But I don't think it was ever close to release in that time. I think they were just trying beats, experimenting with the sound in the studio maybe. Just like they did during writings for the IMD. Only Colours made it into the album from that period, if I remember right.

Well, they weren't finished, but we had heard a third of an album:
Jetfighter
AWOL
The Day
Dogbite
The fact that the name was released does make me think that there were a lot of tracks that were being worked on, and subsequently scrapped (Or re-shaped into tracks that WILL appear on the album).
Though saying that, Liam announced the name of AONO years before v.2 or even v.1 was meant to be out.
