Just posting cos I didn't see anyone post the correct lyrics yet.

2nd line is "Cut it to waste it"

It sounds like "Gutted and wasted" to me...?

I thought singles nowadays are released as soon as they are played on the radio? It seems a bit strange for Radio 1 to be playing it now, when it's not released until February. By the time it comes out, the general public will have forgotten about it, so only the true fans will bother buying the single.

Can't stop listening to it.
My girl, who is a casual fan, was like "That was much better than anything on their last album."
And she has been randomly shouting "nasty, nasty" throughout the last couple of days.
Oh and her favorite Prodigy album is AONO, in case you were wondering.

Been whistling the guitar melody all day, still not a fan but it is catchy. Hopefully the rest is better

What thoughts do you have about Rise of the Eagles surfacing sooner than the album? And only on vinyl!

Since it's released as a b-side to Nasty, they could have something in common. Because Eagle Break is to Nasty what Beat 55 was to Omen. Eagle Break had longer orchestral samples and military drums, the section we hear in Nasty was just one loop of it (and pitched higher than the live fill actually). Just like Omen had the xylophone part as the breakdown like Eagle Break is now featured in Nasty's breakdown. Shame Beat 55 was never released, though...

People compare the beats of Omen and Nasty, but I think the overall structure is kind of the same. Omens singing section has been replaced in Nasty by another melody section (distorted synths) in addition to the main guitar riff, which is great. Both also take the breakdown from a previous idea, which both sound cool but still a bit out of context on those tracks. But that's exactly what makes the middle part of Nasty so awesome because that warped/reversed orchestral sample just comes out of nowhere!

But yeah, main point: I hope Rise of the Eagles has a longer Eagle Break in it and it is kind of one connecting point between two tracks from the same era. There must be a reason why it is released with Nasty. And this isn't something Liam wouldn't do, because we've had G-Force and G-Force Part II (Hyperspeed) that share riffs, Poison and Rat Poison, The Heat and Goa etc etc.

I expected some more violent and dirtier sounding song, but Nasty is too clear and digital, but it's a grower on me. First I was disappointed a bit, because of the Omen beats, but after several listens I like it more and more.

I want Trigger and Nuclear type masterpieces again, but I fear we won't get ever. Those were real dirty tracks. It's a big shame that they never released as studio versions.

Any official news about the Nasty release formats? The 2 vinyls are official? Anyway, I miss the CD single format, I want one!

So its a grower for most people here..

How much of a "grower" was SMBU back in the days?
