What I meant is that Nasty is just "average", nothing imaginative anymore, it's Keith doing the punk thing as in BGAT, Razor, Run With The Wolves, etc...mauybe Nasty is a bit better than those mentioned above but nothing spectacular.

Why do I love this part so much?

I like that there aren't too many lyrics that Keith sings to. Works good with the track.

Listen mate, welcome to the forum, honestly. It's nice to have new blood here. I kinda get what your saying. But the only thing in common with the tracks you've mentioned is Keith is on vocals on each of them, however they all have different vibes. They all sound completely different.

If you think it's average that's fine. Some people are of the same opinion but don't be put off from commenting here. We're all passionate fans and that's what keeps this place a hive of discussion.

A new Prodigy tune shouldn't have to grow on you, it should smack you in the face and make you go "fucking hell", rather than cringe with embarrassment at it's god awful lyrics, outdated production and lame youth rebellion vibe.

Thanks for your kind reply Stuie. I've been a fan since 1994 when Jilted came out (I had already listened to some Experience tracks before and loved them big time).

I think we can divide Prodigy into two different periods (artistically-speaking);
- The 90's
- The rest.

During this second period, many of us who lived the golden era have been waiting for something special (last tune that ever was was One Man Army if we consider that SMBU was written in 1996) but that special tune never came, we have only had hints of what they were but we have had too many fillers in the last 2 albums.

Probably one of the most successful tunes released by them since 2000 was the Pendulum Remix which was a remix of an old tune. Keep that in mind.

Having said that, I'm still collecting of their records (even though they release crap remixes...what the fuck was he thinking when he approved Benga's, Rusko's orAudio Bully's..!!!!!!).

I love Memphis Bells! If I listen to AONO, I usually go straight for that tune (or Girls). One of the best tracks on that album. I could write so much praise about every aspect on that track (the production is far superior to Nasty and the middle part breakdown is one of the most unique sounds Liam has done imo).

But let's just say the thing about it is that it's a tune that doesn't sound like typical Prodigy at all, but that why it's so amazing. It's still screaming Prodigy - everything on that tune is what represents them to me, somehow.

What does it mean?

For me Poison, Firestarter and Breathe was a growers, the bombs with delayed ignition. I remember when i've listened Poison for the first time (after mindblowing No Good and Voodoo) and "wtf? It's awful!" ..and many, many listenings later Poison become one of my favs. The same with Firestarter and Breathe..

I didn't like serial thrilla till like a month ago. It's awesome. Such an underrated punk rock track.

The thing is: these old tunes have good foundations: excellent production, catchy melodies and every sound fits so well and sounds so good.

nasty has these overly distorted synths that sound focked op, but not in a good way. Doubt I will suddenly rediscover this 10 years later.
