it's a mater of a taste if it makes you go fucking hell or not. principles have always veen same, but it's in different key every time. sometimes more similar to previous, sometimes less. people change, ideas change, tastes change.

if u don't like it then it's sad, i feel for you. doesn't mean it sounds shit to everyone. so stop polluting by stating same over and over again, no point innit.

Nobody's polluting. There's a thread in which people can express their opinions freely.

If this is all about praising whatever The Prodigy does it makes no sense for me.

Nasty is a good song, but just average, Keith is irritating at this time and the distortion doesn't help.

The days of musical depth and cleverness from 91 to 97 are over, even though there are some good exceptions. They just want to "bang", to "destroy the speakers" and that nonsense. The Prodigy were the best band at some time in the past because Liam wrote magnificent tracks, with the bang factor but full of ideas and details.

I agree with the user who said that many anonymous producers can deliver tunes which we could praise even more if we thought they were Liam's work.

I know you didn't post your own music. But by saying this you are selfpromoting. Might just as well have posted your own music.

nah seriously though, prodigy will always put out technically sound tracks but give the man a chance, the first single we got from invaders was invaders? some of the best songs are featured on the album not as singles...

but lets be honest, nasty is pretty crappy and i'm really starting to dislike keiths voice on record

(I'm not saying I could write anything better but I feel like this track as a single is a weak prodigy by the numbers track, but i don't worry...this is the man that dropped jetfighter because it didn't make the cut, that album is gonna be the fucking dogs bollocks)

Lol at all the members getting aggy at so-called "haters".

"its".

"god awful lyrics".... breathe, firestarter, Poison? They were never bob dylan. Their stuff was always just meant to be silly and fun... right from the days of Charly and Out of Space.. Nasty lyrics are business as usual.
Outdated... the reese bass drop in the tune? Par for the course for 00's and 10's production... but definitely not stuck in the 90's.
"Youth rebellion vibe".. for geezers approaching 50 they still make more energetic dance tunes than a lot of dudes half their age. Not sure who should feel embarrassed there. Just compare Nasty to stuff by Emalkay and Future Funk Squad. Do it.. their shit is downright pedestrian.

Could it be that you've just grown out of your infatuation with a 90's band but still feel too nostalgic about their old albums to see the old stuff clearly? eh.

Oh.. and people? There isnt a single 90's band or musician doing groundbreaking stuff in 2015. the last Aphex Twin record didnt really push things forward, did it? It was even kind of lame compared to newer stuff from Flying Lotus. Waiting for The Prodigy to reinvent a wheel they helped create is expecting.. a bit much.

Yeah...Liam got us very excited.Talking about ''their best album'' and that he will show to all those USB Djs blablabla....current dance scene blablabla.

Omg did liam said it's ''their best album'' and similar stuff? That's shocking!
If you are a new fan it's ok. But if you're an old timer, you have no excuses.

I even remember a post of mine here asking if anyone remembers Liam to be so confident and say similar stuff before AONO and IMD and someone answered: ''no''

Impressive.-

Im very hungry for new material too but it is nothing special.I love ''the way it is'' but i know it is a bad song in ''prodigy standars''.When people praise everything blindly and their answer to critisism is : ''song rocks,i love it! my wife loves it too! or my dog digs it'' and ''fuck you hater''....well this sucks.

People must not let their personal taste and love for the band affect their judgement.

Yes, but if you see that as your general "rule", then it applies to everyone, not only to those who share the same opinion with you. Keep that in mind.

In my opinion it's pretty lame to face it that way on this occasion.
Some of you have had higher expectations (and i trully can't understand why..) but attacking the band (like i read in manny msgs) at this point in time because of your disappointment, is unfair and pointless.
It's probably gonna be the bands freakin last album, let those who are over-excited to feel that way (even if they think that Nasty is better than Firestarter,SMBU and B&E combined)..it will not hurt anyone.

I'm in agreement with some of this - the problem is now that every track has to be a "banger" - Liam is seemingly now obsessed with "more boom" for the live show. This seems to be at the expense of subtlety, depth and funkiness that used to feature regularly in earlier tunes. Weather Experience for example, or Narayan Beats both were extremely effective moments in the live show despite not fitting into the current Liam-definition of 'banger' or "violent sounding"

So really to sum up the last 30-40 pages.

1. The Prodigy are and will not be like they used to be.
2. Nasty is shite.
3. Nasty is brilliant.
4. Liam has lost it and not able to hold a candle to other modern producers.
5. I don't like your opinion because i don't agree, therefore i will argue that you are wrong.

BK in a nutshell.

The end of Nasty suggests to me that the whole album will be mixed like fat of the land, with each track blending into the other (maybe not quite as intricately mind)

that would be me.

i think another 'One Love' moment would have been a great way to test the waters for this album. Earthbound came at a time where some DJs and members within the dance scene had predisposed themselves to dislike the Prodigy. It didnt matter what came out, if it had their name on it, they didnt give it a chance. And we all know how Earthbound turned out..alot of DJs and critics had egg on their face.

Now, we are in sort of an opposite situation. No matter what comes out from the band, some fans have already decided they like it before they've heard it and of course there are still those who also take the position of disliking it before they hear it...which im sure someone will be quick to point out in regards to me posting this.

If Nasty came out as more or less an instrumental, or they had some unknown vocalist do the bits instead of keith...i wonder how far it would have gotten. I dont know if people would simply dismiss it as a 'IMD/Prodigy rip off' and ironically go bananas against the producer and claim they are fakers who are unoriginal or wannabe prodigy etc.... or if it would have been an underground hit.

Some will argue that Nasty is a completely different song without Keith on there, and that is a fair argument. But i think it would still be a very similar piece of music with a good replacement vocalist.

Its obviously too late for this to happen now, but i think it would have been a very interesting experiment.

You make it sound like i have the power to ruin it 4 them. Ask BK to give you the ''power'' to filter the posts and decide who must be allowed.

i am trying to provide a structured response to anyone who thinks i am here to cause shit, self promote or bash the band.

my stuff is out there. i am not going to post it here, there are various threads in the relevant sections of this forum where i have posted my tracks.

however, i have burnt a big bridge with 90% of people on here now, who are never gunna like anything ive done based off my comment no matter what they hear. shit happens!
