I know plenty old times fans who love IMD. Ok not as much as FOTL but that album just is the pinnacle of everything. Yes, better then jilted

Troll alert! What more to say about your taste/judgement in music. You do not understand what i write, you just want to ''attack'' me.
Even if you like IMD more and feels more fresh to you,you must always value something keeping in mind when it was released and what impact it had.
I explained it on the previous post but you and a few more just seem to read what i post, keep only what you think is convinient ignoring even the smallest truth in my words and write you own thing believing that you nailed me.

btw let old timers talk about what they think most of the old fans believe.
I hang out and talk with more than 20 people who some are even in their mid 40's and i know them for more than 18-20 years. So i have a good idea and we agree on most things.I dont judge just by myself.Yeah i like the BK forum but i did not join to to create an opinion for the band.

*dont know why you are so stuck with IMD...i understand if you like it more but to say that it is better than Jilted? I bet you had sex for the first time hearing Omen reprise

Oh i do not want to attack you. To be honest I will make the same mistake sometimes too. Its actually a technique to make your opinion seem more valid.
You're basically generalizing and contrasting the old and new fans.

Did I say imd is better then jilted? No my order or preferce now would be fat, jilted, imd, aono, experience. I said fat is better than jilted.

Heck who remembers the abuse given out to all those fans that jumped on board after Firestarter? Those guys are veterans now, if any are still around!

I became a fan in '94 when I discovered Jilted, so that's "My" album.

In my head there are 2 Prodigys: The one that brought us three albums up to TFOTL, and the Post-FOTL Prodigy. To me the earlier incarnation is the superior one, though I'm happy to hear claims for each of the first three albums being the best.

I still get just as excited at new Prodigy material, even though I always know it will not sound like it did way back when. I also make every effort to get to the live shows when they come our way. I continue to buy all things Prodigy like a good fanboy.

If new people jump on board via AONO, IMD and TDIME then all the better, welcome aboard. But do be sure to check out the back catalog.

BGAT is one of the best prodigy trax ever. You can also not like it, but its structure is kind of complete. It has many parts, it is a real song, not just a track. Crazy riff, fat diesel power beats, a lot of lyrics, a great chorus, with keyboards leads parts alterned to guitar parts. I can understand that it represents maybe a negative "prodigy period", but I won't never say it sucks, or it is a bad track, because there's all the art of the prodigy within, even though they reject it now for first.

Totally agree! BGAT is so complex, and real dirty and dark track. One of the best Prodigy tracks! I miss that line of songs. I love AONO, one of my all time fav albums, but that album should sounds like BGAT.

I see that "rumour" took down from the topic title. Is it mean that the single tracklist is official?

Newp.

It's probably gonna be a simple cover/remix version of this...

Interesting... I could see parts of AWOL being recycled for this. The beats could fit and I believe it's about the same BPM.

I've listened to this track 4 or 5 times now, let the dust settle for a while.

It's a decent piece of Prodigy music, production wise it sounds a bit less cheesy than IMD does, which is good in my book. Not massively keen on the hook I must admit, I know they've never been wordsmiths, but I just can't get into Keith's vocals. Favourite part of the track is the Brother Culture vocal and that breakdown, quite unexpectedly weird and dark.

Agree there's not a massive jump from this to the material from 6 years ago, but let's see what the rest of the album brings eh? Fingers crossed LH has some more adventurous material than this.

Its interesting with prodigy fans views on whats "dark" or "hard"

To me Claustrophobic Sting is dark, Break N Enter or SMBU is hard..

so we all have different opinions on whats dark or hard.

One thing i will say about Liam and nasty is, he hasn't forgot how to produce a catchy hook, whilst its not his best there is still pop sensibilities that has stayed with him throughout his career.. "pop" can be a dirty word around prodigy fans..but at the end of the day, its liams pop sensibilities that has got him endless chart hits and top selling albums. I expect nasty to be a top 10 hit.

I read the bands recent interview with the guardian, and to be honest it felt like i was reading my dad talking about underground dance music, Liam is so utterly disconnected from underground dance music he can't even see how ironic he's been by saying underground dance music isn't forward thinking now and everything is retro..

This is coming from a man thats just released a single that sounds so unbelievably outdated and he's constantly references the sex pistols and the clash as his inspiration..

What liam doesn't realise is british underground dance music is very very healthy right now, swamp 81, Hessle Audio, houndstooth, R&S, Night Slugs have been making incredible british music over the past 10 years and changed the underground scene.. Liam on the other hand has been listening to wannabe NME darlings around london and playing his punk 7" records and drinking champaign.. He is 100% disconnected.

Liam scoffing at Big Ibiza djs playing pre-prepared sets, hold on just a second.. just what the F*k is a prodigy "live show".. every set list is the same, nothing is off the cuff.. Liam is probably doing less up their than Deadmau5 or Steve Aoiki
Come on liam.. don't turn into a hypocrite in your old age just to shift a few records. I will agree EDM djs are a joke now, but hey.. liam, you did play in ibiza with a pre prepared set banging out of a laptop.. so does that make you any better?

I like to think of liam these days as two people.. Pre FOTL and post FOTL

Pre FOTL... the guy was, young, connected, touring with djs and listening to dance music along with other artists like RATM/NIRVANA/PUMPKINS/PINK FLOYD along with referencing plenty of hip hop..he spoke with passion about the beasties, bombsquad and Wu Tang

Liam after FOTL.. is a totally different character, began to talk about the pistols, the clash, the ramones then after the us success of FOTL began touring with foo fighters, system of a down, deftones.. appearing on bills with slipknot, I mean were at a point now where f*cking papa roach are making records that are referencing the prodigy as an inspiration..

Two very different liam's .. depending on when you got into the band will probably determine how much you like the new stuff

glad im not the only one who spotted this...couldn't help but think the same!

ironically enough, one of the sleaford mods said that liam reminds him of his dad, that the band were 'hilarious' running around in all this leather shit complaining things aint how they were it in their day. (or something to that effect).
