James- Sony is not banning porn though that was news for a while. Since that happened Sony has come out and said they aren't really banning it, they just aren't pushing it. They'd rather not have it on their format.

You are very correct about that being dangerous. Supposedly porn makes up over half of DVDs sold so Sony not backing it would ruin them.

It would be amusing to see Sony pushing it: -
Sony "We've got the hardest porn on Blu-Ray, not like that softcore crap you get on HD-DVD." They could do PS3 exclusives.
:-D

Walmart just struck a massive blow to BluRay. Regardless of how well it's doing now it will have major issues in the States because of this. Walmart is pretty much the biggest chain of stores in the US and this will be catastrophic for BluRay sales.

Um.. Wal-Mart will actually sell both Blu-Ray, PS3 included(!), and HD-DVD players and movies. So the article is quite misleading.

Nobody ever said all BluRay would stop at Walmart nor is the title misleading. Since the article states it's backing HD-DVD (which it wouldn't if it didn't think it was going to win) it's going to make it more affordable and will push its sales in anyway possible. Basically Walmart will have a much larger selection of HD-DVD players and their movies and BluRay will just be shoved in some corner.

Try not to call a bluff that really isn't there.

Actually the article does led one to believe just that. And I'm not alone in my view.

Give me one quote that says they aren't selling BluRay players or the movies in that article or in any response in this thread to mislead readers.

And I'm not alone in my view.

...and that doesn't mean much to me. Sorry if reading comprehension is difficult.
