I believe that Cole Porter wrote All Through the Night, the Ella Fitzgerald song where the phrase The Day Is My Enemy comes from.

Guys, honestly, i don't like this track at all. Of course i'm no hater as well, but I consider Nasty much times superior. This is just a track with one note repeating on and on. I'm sorry, but with Nasty I was happy, not with The Day is my enemy.

Probably since he couldn't have helped Liam out on the album. He's been dead since the 60s.

I preferred the trap version.....

I actually ran out of work and stole someone's earbuds to listen to this. Love it. From the army drums intro right the way through to the end. This is what I was hoping I would hear and I really hope the album continues this way. I really like Nasty, but this just pisses all over it.

Bring on the rest of the album!

On a seriously note, I don't understand. TDIME has more variety than Nasty. One note repeating or not, it doesn't sound like a drag with everything else that's going on. And the "gameboy sounds" mix up the beat. But whatever, opinions are opinions.

My issue with this track are the drums again. They're neither funky nor punchy. Is there a bass drum somewhere between all the mushy pond of flabby bass?
I appreciate the jazz sample, though, that's bold.

I like the fact that the beat is different. It's original AND it punches.
I'm sure there will be proper funky breakbeats on the album. Luckily, not all the tracks will sound the same.

A real parade doesn't sound that over mixed und flubbery. Plus, the "parade"-sound got nothing to do with the lack of punch in the drum hits, that's just flavour. The actual drums are not very defined and just woomph around, especially the kick. We're talking about the man who used to get the best drum sounds in electronic music and funky ones at that. These drums just sound a little stale.

But i'm serious. I mean, starting from the fact that opinions are opinions, of course, this is just one dark sound repeating over and over, with heavy drums and just one linking part at the end with game boy sounds. Of course I need to listen to it more, but it really does not give me any great feeling. This is supposed to be the spitfire of the album, but spitfire is just another planet. I find Nasty more complete than The Day. Not for vocals, but for the alternated parts, the structure, there is a link, a bridge a kind of chorus (if we want to name it in this way). A track can not be good just because is dark and massive, the structure is fundamental. Anyway yes, tastes….
