wow this tune made me feel like I was back in the late 90s when electronic music used to be so exciting! It does not mean that it sounds dated or something - it's just fresh, evil, funky and twisted. This is the sounds I was hoping for so I am more than happy!

1. You really have to pump up the volume to fully appreciate the track.

2. It’s going to rock so hard as an intro at The Prodigy gigs.

3. Nasty really hurt The Prodigy’s name and the promotion of the album. Hopefully this will fix that.

4. I love it a lot but people’s comparisons with Jilted and TFOTL are over exaggerating. I would rather call it the best AONO track never released.

5. I hope the next track we hear is something of this quality that destroys the dance floor so Liam proves he wasn’t just a loud mouth bashing DJs in those interviews.

Nasty 4/10, TDIME 9/10

Posted many times... but YES. Very good decision by Howlett because The Day from Brixton is the worst thing by The Prodigy but I said that also many fuckin times :)

Militaristic, teeth-baring and ball-grabbing, ‘The Day Is My Enemy’ is more industrial than a couple of Transformers having it out in a Soviet weapons factory. If there was any lingering suspicions that the Liam Howlett and co might have mellowed over the years, this track spectacularly pulverizes that notion. This is tune is as violent as any you’ve heard from them in the past.

This is what mixmag described it.

i like nasty for what it is - a pretty good prodigy album track. and i stand by that.

The rather massive and heavy track is obviously what Liam Howlett was reffering to when he described the new material as "violent". It comes complete with face-melting guitar, gut-wrenching bass and the kind of sound that makes Skrillex look like Kenny G

OK. Your right it was an over the top statement.
Probably not their name but it didn’t do any good for the buzz about the album. I got so much shit from people that know The Prodigy are my favourite group about Nasty.

Even if I liked the track I would still have to agree that it didn’t do a good job of getting out a positive word of mouth.

That’s obviously why we got a new track two weeks after Nasty. Even Liam realises that.

But TDIME should get much better buzz so I’m happy and positive. 8-)

Yes, I see your point, good track for me, but bad choice as first single.

Ok first thoughts...well..Yarrrgh! Shiver me "timbre"z!

I'm glad that Liam finally transformed the live tune into something like this.
This version trully underlines the contrast between the vocals and the instrumental part of the tune and it outputs a very unique dark and brutal atmosphere with nostalgic undertones from the past. The cool thing about it is that it all happens in a very surprisingly "balanced" way and that's something hard to find.

Also the overall rhythm is great..really cool percussions.
A thing i find a bit strange is the small part with the "forced" snares in the mids and towards the end of the track (i guess it's there add variety and to bring exitment..).

The one thing i consider as a bad aspect of the tune, is its progression.
As a production it is such a great and delicate job (with all those "stealthy" timbre variations as the tunes progresses  and the additional background sounds towards the end) but the untrained ear might find it repetitive because of the way it's structured.
I'd say that it reveals ALL the elements that are in the center of attention (of the average listener) sooner than it should.

Overall, I find it to be an awesome tune with a unique&rare pre-AONO-ish vibe in it which i missed A LOT all these years. :)

p.s.
i'm happy that the new Prodigy stuff aren't similar to "TMTTH" or "Warriors Dance" (yikes i never liked those tunes that much :heidi: ).
