1. You really have to pump up the volume to fully appreciate the track.

2. It’s going to rock so hard as an intro at The Prodigy gigs.

Play it loud, it goes off live. The ethos of every high-tempo track in history, from breakbeat to metal.

The ending sounds interesting, probably ties in with the next track on the album.

To me it sounds like a helicopter taking off which would fit with the military drums...

Seems like the majority here seems to praise this track unlike Nasty. That's why I feel something is wrong with me because after multiple listens I'm still not really feeling it. :(

First the things I like: it has a slower tempo than most Prodigy tracks increasing the menacing feeling of it. The military drums are awesome and this really is a good track for opening the album or a live show. Nothing to complain about the bassline either, it's some of the darkest shit Liam's done so far. The long known vocals are nice, though a bit overused. I get vibes from this that remind me of the best stuff from 2004-2005 era.

Main problem with me is that I got overly excited about the preview and felt let down when the full track kinda felt like the preview repeated all over. Repetition isn't bad, and in case of electronic music it is almost a must. Someone mentioned getting lost in repetitive tunes like Break And Enter and I can totally second that. With The Day I didn't really get that feeling and it felt like it was just doing the same circle.

There is so much potential in this track I feel Liam didn't fully harness. Because it's one of the most evil tracks he's done and it is very punchy. The bleepy bloopy gameboy melody felt totally out of place in this track, even though someone might find that a nod to the Experience tracks. Bleepy melodies fitted those tracks fine but in a dark track like this I feel disappointed he didn't create a more clever synth than a simple square. I also got annoyed from the constant spamming of the "Get down!" sample, would've worked better in smaller doses. Reminds me of some Experience era tunes again, like Your Love when the title is spammed on every bar  I thought he had gone past that phase.

Nasty was alright, The Day is alright. I just needed some getting used to with both of these new tunes. Invaders era had me so hyped with each track and when the album came out I listened nothing else but that on repeat for months. I was 16 years old then and it was the most sensitive time for building your own taste in music. And I had just started listening to them in 2005 or something when I was still a kid.

I think I'm just scared that this is going to be the first album of my favorite band that I don't instantly fall in love with like the previous ones. And it's been a long wait. :?

I love that people are so polarized with the 2 tracks so far. IMD was a safe album, AONO had people polarized pretty much like this. Should be interesting to hear the rest of the 12 tracks.

It reminds me of the sounds and production style of those snippets on the 2005 website.

Has anyone on here ever made a track as good as the worst Prodigy track. Didn't think so. Fuck off and keep your opinions to yourself.

Enjoy this last album for what it is, bc it's probably their last.

Well this is an opinion of yours as well, so why should everyone else fuck off if they have opinions too?

I can't believe there are still people here that can't allow a single differing opinion about a new tune. I can say what elements I like and don't like about this track without the ability to make any better music. I would be seriously surprised if someone here claimed to be better than what Prodigy has done over the years. I assume you like every Prodigy track then and only dislike the ones you believe you can top yourself...

As it's been six years since the last one, I'm more than desperate and eager to hear the new album. And I'm sure I'll enjoy it let it be better or worse than the preceding ones.

repetitive? u mean like 'full throttle', 'warriors dance', 'diesel power' - pretty much whole jilted album?
this is still dance music. i don't know what you're usually listening to, maybe chopin or something.

Yeah, or even Firestarter! That is ultra repetitive, but everyone loves it. So I don't get this repetitive thing about The Day track...

Overall, I find it to be an awesome tune with a unique&rare pre-AONO-ish vibe in it which i missed A LOT all these years. :)

I feel totally the same way too! It brings absolutely back those 2002 sounds that I missed on AONO and IMD. I never forgive Liam to banned Trigger and Nuclear, and that Temper is not on AONO. Now with TDIME maybe Liam will fix this issue a bit.

I actually listen very rarely to Firestarter and Breathe that are too often labeled as the ones "everyone loves". Maybe I just overplayed them in the beginning, not saying that they were bad tracks in any way. Firestarter may have been their breakthrough moment but for me it isn't one of those tracks that define my love for the band. I'm not a huge fan of Fat of the Land as a whole anyway, though Funky Shit, Diesel Power and Smack My Bitch Up are some of my all time favorites for example.

Funky Shit is like ten times better than Breathe and Firestarter combined, it's so kick ass. Can't top those beats.

Better listen to that album from front to back since it's been a while!
