Did D&B stop being progressive around 2007/8? Remix is okay but doesn't bring anything new, sounds like something i've heard a million times before

There's only one thing I like about this remix, that "oriental" touch. Other than that, nothing. Very dissapointed, I really had high hopes after that live recording.

So The Prodigy sounding like The Prodigy = SHITE
But Spor making DnB that sounds like every other DnB producer from the 2000s = AWESOME
?????
What the hell has happened to this scene?
Screw that noise, I'll take the original version any day over this easy to categorized genre crap.
The Prodigy sound is The Prodigy sound... they're their own genre.

Exactly. If someone told me it was made in 2008 I wouldn't be surprised.

About that Spor remix, it's really not the worst remix I've heard, but if people think that Nasty sounds like it has plastic drums, then this is really cheap plastic. I feel it also has that typical DnB format, do all DnB track need to have the same BPM or something? I can't shake the feeling that most DnB track end up sounding all the same, formatted.
It does have some interesting extra layers that Nasty does seem to lack a bit, but I still prefer the original.

Im gonna go out on a limb here and say its a piece of shit. Because it really is. I cant believe that the crappy recording we heard first sounded miles better than this.

The Spor remix is pretty good, I could imagine giving this more plays for sure. Nothing new under the sun really, but a good drum and bass track still. May sound 2008-ish because that was the last era for Spor really if I'm not mistaken. After that he shifted mainly to the Feed Me sound which I like too.
Loving the build up and the "Liam melody Liam never wrote" The rest is good also, not memorable but a decent listen.

I've never rated him anyway so my opinion of the remix is biased. gcx wrote: I feel it also has that typical DnB format, do all DnB track need to have the same BPM or something?
Well, yeah. Give or take 10BPM or so.

he did a good job IMO. it's not really about liking DnB or not, but I like how he transformed the melody into what it is, and how he brings a bit of his own ideas too. I also like how he ended with the "ain't no tourist" bit, didn't expect it so it was a good surprise
I don't expect less from a remix, any remix lesser than that (hey, Zinc) is not worth releasing, because what we want first and foremost is the original work
btw, evans, if you read this, it's time you update the first post
