BK said he is working on it. I don't really know what that means exactly so Brainkiller, feel free to elaborate.

‘The Day’, now called ‘Destroy’

“I used to write a tune, fnish it, put it to bed and either mix it then or later. But it would more or less be done. Some of these new tracks I half-wrote a year or more ago, then I’ve come back to them and gone, ‘That’s still a great idea, let’s fnish it of.’”

Quote:
It’s neither guitar-based nor synth-based; it’s kind of a mixture of the two. Keith [Flint] and Maxim appear on it a bit more than they do on ‘Invaders…’ and Rob [Holliday, the band’s live guitarist] is on a couple of tracks. Tracks that we like playing live from ‘Invaders…’, like ‘Omen’ and ‘Take Me To The Hospital’, are the template for what we wanted to do with this record.”

From Nasser.

Although Howlett won’t yet be pushed on
whether he thinks the album will stand up to
the band’s ’90s work, he’s confdent it will.

“I’m not worried about whether I can keep
things fresh. If I don’t feel the music
I’m making, I don’t do it. And if I’m in it,
I really feel it – and I’ve been feeling these
new tracks.”

I think this is a mess up, just makes no sense.
Liam already had a video up with the project file called "Destroy" and it was "Destroy The Melody." If Liam gave the instrumental to "The Day" played at Brixton to Same Old Sean for his track "Laydown," I doubt he would also use the same track on The Prodigy album and rename it. I just think this was a mistake from NME mixing tracks up. I rather have a new reworked version of "Destroy The Melody" over "The Day" track played at Brixton. Just doesn't make sense for Liam to give it to Same Old Sean if he still was gonna use it on The Prodigy record.

NAh. I think it makes sense.

First time we heard of Destroy, it was a leaked track featuring Wiley.
(This is the version that will be on the album, as per Liam's instagram posts)

First time we heard of The Day was on a neko interview where it was said that there was "another vocalist" on the same track as Martina Topley Bird.

I guess initially, TheDay vocal was on that Destroy track alongside Wiley... then The Day vocals were turned into the "trap/Rave" tune that was played live... (this beat was given to Same Old Sean) and then The Day vocals were used in the album opener we love.

Complicated.

I actually agree with Neorev, also because apparently, as far as we can know, both trax are completely different (The Day and Destroy the melody) and I'm prone to think that Destroy is another version of Destroy the melody, maybe without Wiley. Anyway we'll see and hear. ;)

No need for your question because its the April edition of Mixmag so it's pointless. I'm also going to delete my question on Get your fight on.

hi, can someone please (who has twitter) post a list of questions there from me (that i've compiled previously....) from both this forum and a large network of fans (these did not make the cut through Fanboy before).....

here it goes, i guess some of you might think these are relevant?

1. What music does inspire you today (the fans know that you are more into more old-school band that have been around for a while), but still, is there any latest hip-hop tunes, bands, IDM, EDM ones? Any others?

2. A very important question from the fans that have been around for long time - does the band feel (as of 2015) that they are still strong as a team and do they feel that they will be around for a while, still going strong and becoming sort of an "electronic rock-n-roll" legend still doing the gigs and tunes / albums into 2025?

3. Can you tell as what's your personal favorite tune on the new album (at least at the moment?) and what is Keith's and Maxim's favorites?

4. Was there a certain track that has started the main (more noisy) theme for the whole The Day Is My Enemy album?

5. What do you think the 19yr old Liam would think if he were to hear your current discography, or watch your live show today? What advice would you give to him?

5. Many people wonder if Liam is ever going to release some sort of a side-project soundtrack album for some indie / sci-fi movie some time (more in style of Narcotic Suite, for example)? Many feel that this could be relevant today.

thanks :)
