You can get away with it, but lastly less and less and even the smallest snippety samples are basically in need of being cleared. Copyright laws are tough these days and reversing a sample is still considered stealing. Fuck that, though, sample culture has gone to shit due to all the money making with the breaks etc.
Whats the deal with recreated samples? As in The Way It Is or TDIME? Do you pay less royalties if you recreate somebody elses record?

With sampling music, you usually need at least two clearances...
-one from the copyright owner of the song, who is usually a music publisher.
-one from the copyright owner of the master tapes, which is usually a record company.
Since Michael Jackson didn't actually write the music to "Thriller," Liam just needed the approval of Rob Temperton, who actually wrote the song. By not sampling the actual recorded song, Liam was able to skip needing Michael Jackson's label's permission and just Temperton, hence saving him a buttload of cash Jackson's label would have charged him.
such as using an artist's song in film, you need...
a master use license (controlled by the record label) and a synchronization license (controlled by the publisher).

No prob, glad I can help.
I used to wanna work in film... my first love before music production.
One of the things that I read up on was music licensing.
There was this great book my girl at the time gave me called What They Don't Teach You In Film School.
Learned some good things from it.

Any idea where I can pre-order it?...

When I heard Eagle Break first time I was certain that base of this is some reversed sample but there was no good quality recording. Now we have Nasty... so I cut Eagle Break part and reversed it. Download for listen: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jeyek47018kq7 ... e.mp3?dl=0Anybody knows it? Where is it from? Recognised it immediately. It's the theme from 'Where Eagles Dare', starring Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XKGhG0W0LQ
You guys rock, is there anything the fans on this forums aren't able to dig up?
So now we know why it's called Eagle Break. Those military drums can be recognized instantly. Good to see Liam still fucking around with movie samples.

That's only a rumour created by Nightmare who also told us the setlist (as seen in the first post) and the release date of 16.02. of which both turn out to be wrong.
So I wouldn't bet on getting Rise of the Eagles at all.

Maybe Prodigy just reject Nasty single (physical release) after team realize its not that good as they think at first.

It looks like the single is coming out, but I was refering to the setlist that Nightmare posted which is entirely different to the new one.
Rumour:
NASTY (Digital Single)
01. Nasty (Edit)
02. Nasty (Spor Remix)
03. Nasty (Twiggy Versione 1)
04. Nasty (Überzone Remix)
05. Nasty (Instrumental)
Release Date 16.02
Actual Release:
1 Nasty 00:04:03
2 Nasty (Zinc Remix) 00:04:11
3 Nasty (Spor Remix) 00:05:09
4 Nasty (Onen Remix) 00:03:57
Release Date 02.02 or 09.02
So I wouldnt trust the Vinyl setlist with Rise of the Eagles either.

It sounds like remix with balls. Need better quality to decide which one is better, Spor or Onen.
Thanx for the rip/link.

So out of the 3 remixes Spor wins! wish they left the original artwork and had the words NASTY NASTY written on the tape deck looks lame without the second NASTY come 2 think of it i preferred it being called 'nasty nasty" <H^Z/\/\
