may I suggest to leave a placeholder/redirection page at the old URL (if you haven't considered yet)
(also, seeing the BK forum in the classic PHPBB skin is kinda funny)

after the update is done, is it meant to look like the usual forum or will there be features added/removed?

Pretty cool! Could the buttons be a little bigger with clearer text? And also the width of these squares to be wider? There's alot of empty space on the sides on widescreen monitors!
