Seems that Wild Frontier has only managed to chart in the uk indie top 30 at number 26.

Got nowhere near the official chart at all, that sucks!

Even though I hate it, thought it wouldve been commerically more successful than Nasty. To be fair though, other than the play on Zane's show and the follow day as the hottest record, i've not heard it played since. Radio 1 is on in my office from 8-5 so I hear it a lot.

It's not on the Radio 1 playlist for some reason.

Not surprising none of them charted high when they are given away with the pre-order.

How many here actually paid monies for the tracks? Not many I'd guess.

None of them were proper singles, nor were they marketed as such. The album itself should still top the charts - if it fails to break the top ten then that's when you should start worrying.

Well, its not a radio friendly album. I don't think chart topping is really the point of this one. Usually, when a band is new, growing up, they need to chart because that drives their price at festivals. Prodigy have plenty of hits up their sleeves to keep their current price tag and still make shitload of money on festivals. Plus, this is probably their last album so they dont really give a fuck, I guess.

They're too mainstream (in terms of popularity) to be picked up by indie/hipsters and yet musically not "gimmicky" or "catchy" enough to be picked up by the general public. It's an odd situation to be in. The album will do much better than the singles obviously. But yeah it seems like people generally don't know there's new stuff. I have no idea how Omen and Warrior's Dance went top 10. They were more radio friendly I guess but not better than these new tracks.

The world has shit taste in music these days. Taylor Swift can go jump off a cliff. :P

I don't think the album will do well at all, to be honest. It's not the world that is at fault here. It's the fact that these three tracks we had so far are just not chart topping material, they're not hits. Omen and WD were hits from the get go, WD went viral the minute it was played live for the first time. Thats the sort of thing that guarantees a hit track, it guarantees interest from a wider audience. Chart topping is not necessarily reserved for "better" tracks but for tracks that reach a wider audience.

Both Omen and Warriors Dance are my least favorite tracks off IMD
Usually skip 'em.
Much rather listen to any of the new tracks over them.
I just never got into Omen, sounds too shrill.
WD was ruined by its production.

I agree. I know Liam did a 4/4 mix of WD but supposedly it didnt work? I would love to hear it though.

Mainstream enough for people to hope their singles chart, underground enough for people to slag off the charts when it doesn't happen :P

No, it will, they have enough of a fanbase to ensure it'll do well. Think about all these rock and metal stalwarts that put out singles that barely touch the top 40 but their albums go straight to the top.

You make a good point but the keyword here is 'fanbase'. I dont think its as strong as it used to be and this album
will split a lot of fans; in fact - it already has. I dont think the money is in selling albums anymore, its in live performance and that is exactly why they concentrated on that aspect. I dont blame them, its their bread and butter and its a good strategy but unfortunately the overall quality suffers for it.
