We can't let past VERY important fact about this album. Liam totally changed he's working methods. it probably has already changed a lot past 2000s, but with this one it was even more drastic.

The amount of sampling with this new album is almost NONE.

This new album is basically jamming recorder to computer. and it is well done. very well at moments. i take my hat off for that.

Medicine is pretty sick.
Invisible Sun sounds like Korn.

lol quoting myself.

want to add that some moments sound plain simple. much less tricks, more emphasis on actual sounds themselves... sounds he all created himself this time. raw analog. man i want 24 bit version of this album.

I'm sure many here can agree when Wall Of Death leaked, the official 320kbps sounded loads better than the leaked 192kbps MP3... that's how big of a difference audio can sound with just different MP3 bitrates, it's loads better when you move into uncompressed/lossless territory.

Now that you mentioned it, I tried listening to the two versions of WoD (320 from website and itunes version) and things will tend to expand a little bit better on the 320 version

Yeah, that's iTunes crumby audio quality variable bitrate averaging out at 256kbps with their audio quality.
Going from 256 to 320kbps doesn't look like much, but it is when it comes to quality.

Pretty much online radio is set at 128kbps... perhaps 192kbps if you're lucky.
the highest you can go with MP3 is 320

a 16 bit WAV is 1411kbps... 24 bit WAV is 2117kbps... those are big differences in bitrate from a measly 320kbps

FLAC has a way of compressing data without losing audio quality... it's pretty magical :P
but a FLAC is a way of having the same audio quality of WAV with a smaller file size (for the folks that complain the files are too large)

so a 16 FLAC fluctuates depending on the track's length and other elements of the song...
so they are usually around 800-1100kbps (compared to the full uncompressed 16 bit WAV maxed at 1411kbps)

24 bit FLAC is usually around 1500-1800 (compared to the full compressed 24 bit WAV maxed at 2117kbps)

Will you start your thread finally?

Rebel Radio is good but it feels like its building to something that never happens.

I agree. Kinda like thunder the frist time i heard it. Very cool intro. Then start the amazing hard beats. But the track never goes somewhere.

And the vocals on rebel radio kinda make the energy die off

To me it kinda sounds like an album intro.

I'm suprised so many people are pleased with this album, my first impression is its really bad. Productions ok, but everything is lacking any real bite. Song writing is bad and the lyrics are cheesier than ever. Ibiza is good but it's still a song about Ibiza. So
Disappointing. At least wall of death is good, but even on that I hate the spooky wooly noise on the Intro.

funny, I absolutely hate ibiza and to a lesser extend wod. At least wod is sort of catchy and starts to grow a little

Someone said that Ibiza is the new firestarter...even if HE was the one...

:woops:

Not that it is a bad song and the guy in vocals is good but it is not so good as they make us believe.

The leaked version is really bad on my phone tho. I have compared leaked Ibiza to the downloaded Ibiza. The downloaded one had clearer beats etc.

I think Rebel Radio and Beyond The Deathray would benefit the most from remixes. Lots of potential there.

I actually had a chuckle at some point listening to this shit. Sounds like an album made by a fan, and not a very talented one at that.

I agree.

The Day, Rebel Radio, Ibiza, Destroy, Rok-Weiler, Roadblox, Medicine and Invisible Sun sounds exactly what a fan with no music talent at all does.

that's kinda harsh.. the biggest feeling i have missed when listening to Liam's tunes since FOTL, is the feeling like: "how the hell did he manage to create that sound/riff/beats"..

This album finaly gave me that feeling again. And i am so happy with that.
