It is, to my mind, particularly interesting what both Spotify Rebel Radio's and Xfm's shows reveal about the intensity of the psychological tension between the LH and Keith. Not only does it turn out that Liam IS Prodigy, solely (that was always the case, but in the IMD times that fact was somewhat sweeped under the carpet for the benefit of the 'unity and celebration' , 'band album'style), but also that the atmosphere in the band has truly been volatile.

It is emphasised, maybe more strongly than anytime before, that it is LH and LH only that creates virtually all the material, while the two may but impatiently wait, frustrated. It is up to LH's whim that a half-ready record gets ditched.

Throughout the two mentioned interviews, plus the Twitch video that came earlier, it is quite clear, judging even by the way they address each other, that Keith and Liam are nowadays somewhat distant - they talk to each other in an unnaturally delicate and polite manner - just like people that had a bitter, unpleasant row, now merely slowly examining the grounds to reestablish the old camaraderie.

Hahaha! ''Brainkiller...''....''Brainkiller...'' You should have added the Ibiza laser gun sound each time you put it.

Besides, it turns out Eddie TM might be not so much into the band as he tries to make it look like. He admitted he hadn't known that Juliette Lewis did Spitfire and he'd also mistaken Shahin Badar for another singer. Though everyone knows these things, I mean these are basics for a fan.
In that light Eddie announcing the guys as 'the best band in the world' sounds a bit hollow.

Actually he dubs them 'scientists of sound' and deems their SMBU's remix the best ever done. So he might be a bit of a fan. :P

seems a bit odd.. i think it's just Flint talking here..
but the last quote from him looks interesting

It’s easier in the long run because we don’t have to do anything and you don’t have to listen to us talking about doing stuff we’ll never do.

maybe im reading into it too much, but it feels like the "us" could be replaced by "Liam" ?

Thanks for recording the XFM interview (and only having the Brainkiller 'watermark' once). It's a really good interview.

It's funny how Liam doesn't remember that 'The Big Gundown' was released on Cooking Vinyl / Take Me To The Hospital and not XL Recordings. Liam also doesn't know/remember that the 'The Big Gundown' is a bonus track on the Special Edition of 'Invaders Must Die' CD.

And that, dear James, is the difference between an analyst and an artist.

Interview with the Russian prodigy website

Prodigy Rus

3 hrs ·

Hey.
This is the original english version of TheProdigy.ru interview with The Prodigy!

1. There were a lot of rumors about your studio sessions with Dizzy Rascal & Scream. Is it possible to hear smth from this collab in the future? (Roshal)

HOWDY !! I NEVER DID ANYTHING WITH SCREAM , WASNT EVER ON MY RADAR AS SOMETHING TO DO , I HUNG OUT WITH HIM ONCE
I GOT BIG RESPECT FOR DIZZ , WE TRYED A VIBE OUT COUPLE OF YEARS AGO BUT WASNT THE RIGHT MUSIC SO DIDNT GET FINISHED

2. Making what album track was the hardest and the longest process? Which one was edited the most? (Truten)

HMMM I THINK GET UR FIGHT ON AND NASTY TOOK QUITE A WHILE COZ THERE ARE ALOT OF DIFFERENT VERSIONS ,, GYFO EVOLVED FROM FIRST VERSION WE PLAYED LIVE INTO DIFFERENT TUNE , I ALSO HAVE ANOTHER DIFFERENT DEMO VERSION OF NASTY THAT I MAY POST UP ,, ITS USUALLY THE TRACKS THAT ARE FINISHED THE QUICKEST THAT ARE THE BEST ONES

3. What track was kinda energy punch for you to start doing the album? As you said before «Firestarter» was the main sign when you get the proper direction for «The Fat of the land». What track from TDIME did you have as a basis and inspiration for your future work in the studio? (I*G*O*R)

THE FIRST VOCAL WE LAID DOWN WAS FOR NASTY IN ONE OF THE EARLY LIVE JAMS IN THE STUDIO , KEEF CAME IN WITH THE LYRICS AND I JUST STARTED PLAYING THE OBERHEIM SYNTH ALONG UNTIL WE HAD SOMETHING THAT BUZZED US , WE WERE THEN MOVING FORWARD IN RIGHT DIRECTION ,

4. There are a lot of tracks on this album and this is great but do you plan to release kinda «Lost Beats» EP after the album issue? We sure that there are enough good tracks that wasn’t put in the album (Truten)

I THINK I WILL FINISH AWOL AND GIVE IT AWAY , THERE WERE A COUPLE OF OTHER GOOD JOINTS THAT DESERVE HITTIN AGAIN, BUT ALLWAYS GOOD TO MOVE FORWARD ,,I GOT SO MANY KILLER RIFFS ON MY DICTAPHONE I NEED TO WORK UP ,

5. Now we’ve seen 2 videos from the album tracks, they’re really awesome but all of them don’t have Prodigy members in it. Do you have an idea of making a video with band members like you did with Firestarter, Breathe etc? Many fans missing it. (Andrey Makarenko)

YEAH THE REASON FOR THIS IS BECAUSE WE WERE TOO BUSY IN THE STUDIO FINISHING THE ALBUM TO APPEAR IN THE FIRST 2 VIDS , WE WILL BE IN THE NEXT ONES TO FOLLOW THO , SO WATCH OUT FOR THEM

6. We all know that you’re the brain of the band but we cann’t imagine the Prodigy without Keith and Maxim for sure. Tell me please if there were any tracks from TDIME that Keith and Max didn’t like when you played it to them for the first time? Kinda - «Hey guys, check this beats out» and they answer «Well bro, please safe our ears» What do ya do when they don’t like smth? (Roman Premvistar

YOU DONT NEED TO IMAGINE THE PRODIGY WITHOUT KEEF OR MAXIM BECAUSE IT WOULDNT BE THE PRODIGY , WE ARE ALL FUNDAMENTAL TO THIS BAND , NO ONE PERSON IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE OTHER, WE JUST HAVE DIFFERENT ROLLS
IT NEVER HAPPENS THAT THE GUYS DONT LIKE AN IDEA OR TUNE THO COZ WE ARE SO LOCKED IN TOGETHER TIGHT WITH WHAT WE ALL LIKE AND ON SAME WAVELENGTH,,

7. How do you decide what track from the album should definitely be in a gig set-list? Do you plan to change new stuff in the list from time to time? In Perth you’ve replaced TDIME with Rebel Radio. Why you did it and will it be continued in the future? Were you satisfied with this 2 gigs passed, i mean the crowd reaction for the new stuff? (mutant_vhlam)

WE HAVE ENOUGH TUNES TO ALLWAYS FLIP IT UP ,, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I GET A BUZZ OFF IS THAT LIVE VERSIONS OF THE TUNES EVOLVE AND CHANGE , IT MAY BE SOMETHING SMALL JUST DIFFERENT ARRANGEMENT OR BIG LIKE A REMIX , IT KEEPS THAT SHIT FRESH FOR US , ALLWAYS MOVING.
WE USED AUSTRALIA TO TEST OUT THE TUNES , THE REACTION WAS GREAT

8. When you were in Russia last time 4 guys from TheProdigy.ru presented you their fanbook with CD inside. Did ya have time to check it out? What do you think about this reworks, remixes and other fan art stuff? (Varen’e)

THIS WAS A GREAT GIFT AND IT WAS TOTAL RESPECT , I CHECKED IT OUT AND LUVED IT , THINGS LIKE THIS THAT PEOPLE HAVE PUT THEIR TIME AND ENERGY INTO ARE FUKING GREAT , I KEEP THIS IN MY HOME , VERY SPECIAL

Thanx again.
RESPECT G MAN
LIAM H / MASTER H/ LH CHANDON / LIAM PRODIGY
