About the NME interview:

Usually it's Liam and Keith doing the talking, and Maxim almost keeping away from the mic. Now he seemed like he was excited to take it. Clearly shows they've been talking seriously about the shift from longer album-cycles to more frequently released EP's. Maxim at least seems rather enthusiastic about it, and Liam seems confident too (almost believed him.. )

Keith looks so tired. I don't know if they do these after or before gigs but yeah, he has recently looked pretty exhausted in these short clips. Touring might wear him down sooner than the other guys, but I hope not!

As for the news about EP's, that's really cool. I kind of sensed TDIME was their last album because the process was so long and tiring, but it wouldn't be like "last album, no more music". So I'm totally down with Liam trying a more modern approach, maybe if it was just an EP once a year. Even just a couple new studio tracks per year is better than waiting again for six years or more.

I do not understand why you are all so happy with the ''no more albums'' approach.
Surely lf Liam feels he is empty and can't write another album ever, well yeah i prefer this than nothing.
But if there is a chance of a new album i prefer an EP with something better than AWOL in '17 and a new album 2-3 years later.

* i feel that the guys talked to Liam about the future and Liam must have told them that he cant write a new album in less than 5 years,so they decided to release 2-3 EP's in the next 3 years and quit.I just only hope he can write one last really really good song for one of those EP's and then take the flag down.

I agree. This sounds like an hymn to commerciability. History of bands has always been founded on LP not on EP.

Not really anymore, certainly in the electronic music space.

It's interesting though to track these recent Freudian slips of theirs. In Belgium Keef says that doing homogeneous gigs 'would be boring', in Scotland he adds that wasn't it for constant breaks in touring they'd have 'nothing to talk about', and therein Liam suddenly confesses that line about the album cycle which 'bores the shit out of him'.
The boredom is an eagerly resorted to note of theirs nowadays.
For a layman it may seem shocking that one may get bored doing hectic shows for thousands all around the globe, but the ugly side of being human is that no matter what we do, if it is repetitive, one day it may all go mundane.

True, but the prodigy are not simply electronic music. They firstly are a band and involve a branch of sounds which is mostly electronic, but as you all know, it surfs to rock, punk ,hip-hop, break and so on. They're not easy "labelable".

Releasing EPs would be the wise decision with the new studio and working environment. It will build interactivity with audience and the most valuable thing is not writing the tune but the enjoyment you take from creating and that will reflect to the audience as well.

I rather take 2-4 EP's a year, than wait 5 years for an album!

2-4 EPs a year? We'll be lucky if we get one.

You are crazy bro! I do not think they will release more than 4 EP's in the next 3 years.

I can also imagine Liam replying to a "EPs are faster" question: Did I really say that? I was probably drunk man, you know me and my promises, d'ya know wha' I mean?
