<  OFF TOPIC / QUESTIONS  ~  Grr Can't Connect To Soulseek

PostPosted: Tue May 15, 2007 7:29 am
Fuck I can't connect to Soulseek for the last few days. When I open it, it usually auto-connected me. But now even if i manually connect, nothing happens and I can't get online :( Anybody know how to fix this?

I have no problems with connecting now and last days.
I had it once, and a reinstall of slsk did the job then.

Maybe "someone" closed your port 5534 and 2234?
Reset your router recently? Do you know if your ISP closed these ports?

Nah, SLSK can still connect with closed ports. Opening them can give a boost though.

I've reinstalled it, etc. Still not working. I just got online finally for like 5 minutes, but it wasn't finding very much stuff, then i went to download something and it disconnected, and now I can't get back on. I'm using version 156c. Grrr this is so annoying.

same here. it just goes screwy every now and then. slsk forums are full off people with the same problem. my advice is just to forget about for a day or 2 and then, when it isn't watching, quickly open it up!

i spent an evening once changing my ports and ip address loads of times for nothing and then the next day it was fine!!??

You can try the 'latest' beta: 157 test 8
http://www.slsknet.org/download.html
The version worked fine for me once.

You have a firewall running? Can be worth to check out if it's blocks slsk.

Depends on your router, before you go and spend too much time. You can go to options -> general options -> test firewall and router settings. And see if there is a problem.

Yeah it's sorted out now. First I got on but was getting really shit search results, now it's back to normal. Did nothing, just waited it out in the end.

SLSK is a download program. Only good if you are searching music.

What are your nicks BTW?
