don't know why i didn't do this sooner since there's a lot of us that use rapidshare and megaupload. i know it's off topic for the music downloads bit, but it seemed the best place to post it.
if the hour and a half rapidshare waiting time is getting on your nerves, then just (if you can), switch your modem off and then switch it back on again. if it's set up to automatically find an ip address it'll be different to the one that rapidshare uses to keep track of who you are. the clock will be reset to 0 if the previous file was about 50 meg, and to 45 mins or so if it was bigger. then do the same again and it should go back to 0. either way you can say bye bye to the hour and a half waiting time!
i only found out about this recently. it's the only rapidshare trick that really works. all the other stuff about free membership and the like is pure bullshit and more likely to get you a virus or waste your time.
if you can't switch your modem off like this, or you have a permanent ip address then there's not much you can do really apart from buy a premium account or just upload and share like crazy until you get 10,000 points and they give you a free account! (think i'll get that in about 20 years!)
also, rapget is a useful downloader that doesn't require you to enter a code (thanks to 4ever2mind for telling me about this!). just paste the links and it does the rest (with waiting time unless you do the off on trick). the only problem is that rapidshare is wise to the guy who makes it's game and as a result they find a way to block it. you then need to wait until he releases a new version (which he does fairly regularly) and off you go again!. you need the ssl thingy as well. get them here http://www.rapget.com/en/download.html
hope this helps, and sorry for the length do i win a prize for longest waffle?
any other ideas gratefully recieved.......................

if you're like me and don't live in western europe or america then you have problems downloading megaupload files. "all download slots to your country 'wherever' are full".
to get round this you can use a download program, but these don't work all the time.
i saw in a forum today that you need to paste http://webwarper.net/ww/~av/ into the browser, and then paste in the megaupload link at the end.
so http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2QZV9QIU
now looks like http://webwarper.net/ww/~av/http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2QZV9QIU
click go, and voila! you're in. you can then enter the code and wait the 45 secs, but then all you get is a pop up advert and it sys 'loading download', but nothing happens!!@#!@?
what am i not doing? help!

found a solution that works!
if you're using a mozilla firefox brower then get the Megaupload SX.3.2 extension from here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3843
install it, restart firefox, enable it in the toolar, paste your megaupload link in the address bar like normal and you'll be directed through a european or american page. wait the 45 secs and then click the download bit (i got a spanish one), and off you go!
obviously it doesn't work if you haven't got firefox, and isn't compatible with the gran paradiso beta.

Getting a premium account on RapidShare is defenitely worth the money, so my suggestion is to simply do that and get rid of all the hassle.

That "try before buy" 24-hour rule never existed. Back in the days before P2P it was often writen on MP3 websites, because the police wouldnt come get you within 24 hours, but its just as illegal never the less.

I wonder why people don't just use MEDIAFIRE . COM or SENDSPACE . COM - you don't need to wait, you can download more than 1 files simultaneously and you can use it anywhere

i think the prodigy downloads must be available all the time on BK and sendspace links expire after a week
that's why using rapidshare (links are available for 2 months or more )

I have only tried downloading from sendspace 2 times, and both times it gave me an error in the words of "Too many users downloading right now. Try come back later or wait 1 minnute" and then the page would reload every minnute for a while.
