Ive known the Prodigy for almost my whole life and there is three known things i know might happen with the Prodigy:
1. "Lying" about release dates. He could have said that it got delayed but he never does.
2. Awesome livetracks never being released.
3. Some awesome tracks being negatively changed in the albums. Rockweiler went from a Breathev2 to a Piranha. But sometimes it gets better in the albums. Like the day is my enemy.
But even with these three major flaws, i still love them and im too used to delayed albums and broken promises :3

I really don't get the problem of "lying" about the date of release. It is not the first time that the band behave in this way. There' s nothing new with it. Remember Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned. Our lives don't change if they release anything or not. I'm personally more concerned about their live scene, which is in my opinion the most important thing to consider, since they released six albums and many singles so far. I would be glad if they would be like The Specials or Madness, which are bands which just use to play live without releasing anything. What worries me is that, at the moment, there aren't any bands or musical acts which could be compared to the prodigy. This is the problem.

I dont have much problems with this band as i prefer livetracks over albumtracks most of the time. And all us old fans knows to not to take it too seriously. Im still surprised that they released a big version of the day out of nowhere with bsides and livetracks.

I wonder what's the reason for this delay? Could it be a BMG-related thing? Change of mind and scrapped ideas?
I mean, that Instagram post seemed very confident and it was backed with that BMG announcement. Really strange.
For all we know (and what we all hope for) is that everything is ready and a %100 and is about to drop but with The Prodigy we're used to being very careful with what they say and take it with a grain of salt

I'm very confident a new album will be released in the first half of the year (probably in the first quarter).
Why would they announce a new album if it wasn't nearly done? No one was expecting an album until the announcement anyway.
BMG wouldn't have done a statement if the album was nowhere near done.
Why announce a single in September for release before the end of the year if one wasn't ready? Admittedly the release has been delayed but once it got to mid December it was never going to come out this year. They don't want to get involved with Xmas releases. People who were expecting an update between Xmas Day and New Years Day aren't living in the real world.
A lot of this forum is made up of two vocal groups of people: - People who used to like The Prodigy but don't like any of the new music or live set lists and tell everyone about that repeatedly. People who love The Prodigy but go into a spiral of depression and anger when Liam 'lies' to them.
If you don't like The Prodigy anymore go and spend your limited time on something you do like (people spend far too much of their time on stuff they don't like). If you love The Prodigy you'll know the music arrives when it arrives.

This place is also full of people lurking around for any kind of information, because it's the best place to get actual info on the band. And it has been like that for 10-15 years.
How many people come here to check the page count on this topic hoping is surges dramatically?

Now I'm sure Liam visits this place and delays albums based on how much we whine.

Another article, from HMV: http://www.hmv.com/music/2018-best-albumsQuote: Back in 2015, after the release of their sixth album The Day Is My Enemy, The Prodigy were happily telling everyone that they weren’t going to release any more albums. Ironically not only have they already changed their minds about that, but it looks like being the shortest gap between their LPs since their debut album and its follow-up.
The trio have signed a brand new record deal with BMG and have promised we’ll have a “sustained burst of activity” in 2018, but there’s no word on when the new album will drop or if we can expect any collaborators to be on board.

the music that liam writes is pretty complex and takes time to create good ideas (~especially the prodigy level)
only time will tell...
or just bring out a load of unused demos like aphex twin did recently and let us go at it!
