Okay, I thought the video snippet looked great, but had hoped for a less violent video, and expected something like No Good for some reason. I did not enjoy it, and what does the lyric has to do with the video? Don't get it. Song too repeative, and I am bored with it already after 1 listen. I have listened to it like 30 times hoping it would grow on me, but no...

Most prodigy songs are repetitive. Like really repetitive. Breathe is half copy/paste. All MFTJG songs could be cut in half and honestly what would you be missing in terms of new content? Not defending Need Some1. Honestly hate some of the sounds. But how can one be mad at the repetitive nature of this song when 9/10 prodigy songs are repetitive?

Ended up quite liking the track after playing it in the car this week not too keen on the vid clip though. Bit short. Hopefully the other album tracks are longer. Good start

Breathe has a various structure. It is more "a song". There is a kind of "verse" repeated 3 times totally and interrupted by three "refrains" which, in turn, is interrupted by a bridge. Need Some1 is a riff repeating over and over for 3 minutes interrupted by a bridge (lasting 20 seconds more or less). Breathe isn't a good example in my opinion to be compared to Need Some1, since it has more a song-structure.

So Need Some1 is confirmed as album opener, a bit surprised by that, but I'm sure I'll get used to the idea before the album drops. I wonder what track 2 will be then.

The cringe is unbearable. Sounds like a dated attempt to remake the prodigy sound. The amount of people it took to right this diarrhea is simply astonishing. Put this against any Aono track. It’ll sound more dated than 2004

Disclaimer: Heh, I joined this forum in 2010, but this is going to be my 1st post evah here.
I liked most of the stuff Prodigy did over the years. Stated in 1995/1996 I'm obviously biased towards MFTJG, TFOTL or Experience era works. AONO was mediocre for me, with just a couple of tracks standing out. IMD and TDIME have some lows but also some incredible highs for me (and I liked a lot slower tracks like reprise - kind of bridges through these albums).
But this (Need Some1)?? Really? A couple of 'riffs' repeated over time, basically no structure, sorry to say that but it's barely listenable. The only interesting development inside is around 1.55 to 2.25, starting getting some complexity, some growing structure, but then again, quickly back to really rudimentary sound.
If I wouldn't know Need Some1 is a child of The Prodigy - I would not bear the first minute of it. LH is already a true genius, for all the works he did in the past, true genius for me, but it doesn't mean I should praise all the stuff he does. And Need Some1 (again my opinion) is such a low quality fart that I cannot believe it was selected into the album in the first place, not to mention to be a first track promoting this album.
Yes, Prodigy is repeatable mostly, and I don't mind that, but if you compare Breathe, Firestarter, narcotic suite, Wild Frontier, Take Me to the Hospital, TFOTL era tracks - they are well, WELL, beyond what is now given in Need Some1.
I do hope this track will be the lowest point of the whole album. I really do.

I do hope this track will be the lowest point of the whole album. I really do. I don't consider Need Some1 as a fart, but I practically almost completely agree with you. The Prodigy can give and show much more than this track as quality and potential. I'm waiting 4 Resonate and tracks like the snippet placed on instagram.

People just use the internet to bitch and moan. Rarely do they praise anything because why would they? Bitching is what they live for. Probably why the internet is just a sad cesspool of sad sacks because it makes people feel good to think how they believe something should sound and their pissing and whining matters. They can't wait to run to their keyboard and vomit out their next "What I think" piece. It's funny how each release pull a bunch of people out of the woods, people who rarely post or come here, who suddenly appear out of nowhere just to bitch again and again. You haven't liked the band since Jilted or FOTL? Then why are you still here? Stop comparing shit to the past. You like an album from earlier? Well, then go listen to it. Always this compare something new to Jilted or FOTL or AONO nonsense. You want those albums? Guess what, they are there for you to listen to right this very second. If you don't like what they are doing now then why waste a moment of your life just to spread more vitriol? Just move on with your life. Witness the sickness.

Dear NEOREV,
first of all, I don't think I just bitched in my post. I've highlighted what kind of tracks I like, and I've also stated at least twice that LH in my humble opinion is a musical genius (due to his previous works). But then I went to expressing my honest opinion about the recently released track that it is simply poor (and why), especially in light of what the band has released in the past. Except the 'fart' word I don't think I have used any shocking, aggressive, offensive language. Also - at the end I expressed the hope that this will be the weakest track on the album, clearly indicating I do have some higher hopes for the quality of the whole album.
I always assumed such forums are for fans, also for expressing their opinions about their favourite artist works. I've participated and seen in other IDM forum discussions, that ppl are openly saying what they mean about a particular piece of released art. Some people like, some people dislike. This is the open exchange of the opinions. And yes, I've seen big music names being criticized, especially if they released some lower quality tracks. And what is wrong with that [kind of discussions]?
Artists release their stuff for artistic purposes but also (and in many cases, mainly) for money. This is what they do for living. Therefore, as any other product of the work, the music they release can be a subject of criticism and opinion.
If we were to stick only to positive 'yes-man' type opinions, we could immediately get rid of the whole bunch of forums and stick only to FB-like endorsements of the artists. Is this what we really want? Having some favourite bands is not some sort of religion and to a great extend we are not fan-boys. I would provide the similar type of comment for any other artist I admire (e.g. Aphex Twin, Aleksi Perala, Brothomstates) if they released something in my opinion was way below the typical quality level I have observed in the past. Again - this is not a religion nor life, it's 'just' music.
PS. And please do not refer to my private life. I have plenty to do in it (on top of listening to some good music, for pleasure), I'm pretty successful in it [so far] and it has nothing to do with my opinions expressed on different forums about different works of art.

Dear NEOREV, I had this (naive - I admit) thought of your post referring to me because of the several statements in it. If this is not the case, and you just referred in general to any non-frequent (or non-poster) with a strong preference towards the older era tracks, that comes and criticizes the tracks, than please forgive my premature jumping to the conclusion. I just by accident happen to fill that criteria quite well Of course it had this initial warm feeling, that yes, there is at least someone on that forum that pays great attention to what I write. If you don't mind, I would keep that feeling as it is really nice to [assume] that there is someone focused on me, even if in reality this is not the case
