Just a speculation question. Do you think there is any chance for them playing Milton Keynes again, maybe next year? If No Tourist's will do well. The whole Warrior's Dance festival have died down. Wonder why.

The whole Warrior's Dance festival have died down. Wonder why. Would be lovely to see it happen again, but I have my doubts whether The Prodigy can get even as popular as during IMD era ever again. But they could do that in UK no problem, right? Plenty of people would be interested in a festival like that.

Prodigal Son wrote: https://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/music/108029856/The-Prodigy-announce-one-New-Zealand-show?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Quote: The Prodigy announce one New Zealand show Kate Robertson 06:00, Oct 24 2018
British rave group The Prodigy will return to New Zealand in 2019 with one show at Trusts Arena in Auckland on February 5.
After almost nine years away, the trio are eager to be back in Aotearoa, says band leader Liam Howlett.
"Coming to that part of the world used to be a regular thing in your summertime and our winter. We would always look forward to coming down in January, so it feels like a long time since we've been.
"There was no point in coming unless we had a new record, because we wanna play the new tracks and start fresh."
That new record No Tourists drops on November 2 and it will be the Brit Award-winning trio's seventh studio album.
"In this day, with the way things are said to us through the internet and phones, it's very easy to fall into a tourist trap in the way your path is laid out for you. This has happened in the last few years, and I think it's made people a bit lazy," says Howlett.
"[We're saying] you can explore, you can jump off this path, you don't have to go down this route that's laid out all the time."
The group were pioneers of electronic dance music in the 1990s and Howlett says this refusal to do anything by the book gave the group a point of difference from day one.
"We always rebel against ourselves. For us it's more exciting trying to be different, or trying to live in a different manner than the everyday nonsense.
"It's also about escapism. Wanting to derail yourself off that path."
The group found their greatest commercial success in the mid-90s with hit singles Breathe, Firestarter, and Smack That B…. Up, but Howlett says The Prodigy aren't ready to sell themselves as a nostalgia band just yet.
"We're not a retro band.
"New music feeds the live show. Without the fresh tunes we'd just be playing our old songs. People would be like 'Oh they're back playing their first album', which some bands do, but we don't like that stuff. We like to keep it fresh."
Howlett says that after 20 plus years in the business, he no longer feels the need to partake in any rituals or warm-ups before walking out on stage.
"We come ready. We're just always ready."
"There's no jumping around or warming up or any of that nonsense. It's as relaxed as you can be backstage, and then the flip of that is just jumping into the fire. It's like flicking a switch. As soon as you see the crowd or hear the music, it just happens."
Howlett describes a Prodigy show as an arena-wide "release of energy".
"A good gig for us will be where we've reacted to the crowd, there's a lot of chaos, and people just come and release."
"All we try and do is play the music as violently as we can. That's kind of us, playing it how we wrote it. Even though it's electronic music, we play it as hard as possible to get the point across."
As for what he gets back from the crowd, Howlett says that's easy, it's the priceless reassurance that what they're doing is working.
"When you're in a band, the purest form of connecting with people is standing on stage and seeing people's faces react to the music. You can't really get that any other way. You can't get that when people listen to it on the radio or download it.
"You know everything you need to know about your music when you watch people react to it."
* Tickets for The Prodigy's Auckland show go on sale at 7pm, November 1

Might as well pencil them in for Chicago Open Air as well (May 17-19). It's ran by the same group that does Sonic Temple. So for those of you in the Chicagoland area, you're in luck!!
