I could give a shit about these music magazines. They're out of touch, can't write for shit, garbage trend following, pay to play bullshit. No review has ever swayed me or made me buy or not buy an album. These magazines go where the money is.

Music reviews are irrelevant these days. People can go on Spotify, listen for free and make up their own mind. It's not like the old days when often the first time you heard a track was after you'd bought the CD.

Thing is...how can people stand up for an album they have not yet listened to? I mean, we have heard 4 tracks, the reaction has been positive with two of them and the other two have received mixed opinions...I don't want to...but what if the album is shite in the end?

I think that if people are going to defend an album that should be after listening to it on its entirety, not because they are The Prodigy only.

I'll wait until Friday or whenever I buy it.

he compares prodigy to contemporary shit music.

the band has ALWAYS swum against the current and they don't have to fit to the latest fashion.
they have strong fan base and fans who know them

I wonder why people are so excited for reviews. Reviews are other people's opinions. Other people's opinion doesn't represent my taste of music. I'll make my own opinion as soon as the album is here. 8-)

The point is I don't care what you, the magazine reviewers or anyone else thinks of the album (good or bad). I'll make my own mind up.

Like all art people have different opinions about it.

There's a bunch of people who need peer validation to be sure that they are in line with the masses. It's easier to be told what to think than to forge a personal opinion.
In a way I'm glad The Prodigy doesn't fit in any popular or current mold anymore.
Let the kids have their new thing if they like it, we'll keep ours.

The last review has given me high hopes for Give Me A Signal at least, I'm just not sure what Barns Courtney can bring to a Prodigy tune. Time will tell I suppose, Liam knows best after all.

that's exactly what I said, that is, that it's better to give an opinion about the album AFTER listening to it, not BEFORE. I don't understand your attitude towards me in particular. Is it something personal?

I don't know how the music industry works, but do those "critics" actually influence the sales nowadays in the 2010's?
With Spotify, GooglePlay, Apple Music that you can listen the album before you buy it, or don't buy it at all if you have subscribed to a service like this? Who fucking cares?

It's not like a movie, which I also don't trust critics, that you will pay the cinema ticket to see it once and you 've done with it, and let's say sometimes you maybe wanna see opinions before you spend 10 bucks and two hours of your life.

It's kinda funny and sad, when Prodigy release new album, they expect everytime Liam to reinvent the wheel. Like we are swimming in revolutionary albums here and there with other creators/bands...

People will decide, many examples noted above that proved them wrong. Who the fuck gives them credibility and pay them to review?
