Need Some1: it’s ok, but is a bside really. Weak opener
Light Up The Sky: again, it’s ok, nothing special. I’m not a fan of the rehashed synths though. Feels lazy
We Live Forever: decent but nothing outstanding like a lot of you have made out. Maxim’s vocals are crap though
No Tourists: forgettable. Another bside at best
Fight Fire With Fire: dreadful. Lacks a groove and the vocals are really poorly mixed into the track. One of The Prodigy’s worst ever tunes
Timebomb Zone: poor title however the tune is decent albeit formulaic. A bog standard reese and sped up vocals aren’t exactly cutting edge. Still enjoy it though
Champions of London: obligatory shit rocky tune for Keith to do his hard man routine. Crap
Boom Boom Tap: novelty, not a fan
Resonate: like the beat but that’s about it
Give Me a Signal: rehashed the 303 from One Love to poor effect. Weak closer
On the basis that I like or can tolerate 4 of the 10 tracks on this album I can give it a 4/10.
Liam seems to be bereft of any decent ideas now and this template of reusing old track parts is evidence of that. Sonically his tunes are now sounding very messy and lack clear focus on what he’s trying to achieve. His ear to pick out samples that worked together seems to have left him and he now resorts to tried and tested methods but you can’t keep flogging a dead horse.

on the whole I think its good, but no major surprises for me.... Liam has been using these same sounds for the past 3 albums now. I hear lots of reused sounds and parts....I like the no tourists track, we live forever is a future classic, timebomb zone is also very good (shite name though)...the last track is good but sounds like the 303 is there for the sake of it, it isnt really bedded into the track enough for me and the synth reminds me of 2006/07 electro, that perfect exceeder track sprung to mind with princess superstar.....i imagine that boom boom tap vocal is probably something he saw when his little lad showed him the video of that kid too...cant personally see Liam finding that on his own but you never know?!
but the thing that stood out to me the most was champions of london...sounds like its using that eddy cochran synth and lots of leftover parts from run with the wolves, including a keith scream... i love the title 'champions of london' but not sure the vocals backed up the strength of that title. it feels a bit like the same idea has been recycled a few times now; warning, run and now this. again not a bad thing per say, but probably the most rehashed song in terms of ideas and sound on the album.
but thats only first impressions. i like alot of whats going on, it sounds more linear than past albums, the tracks have a less crowded feel. the last album just felt like they tried to make it too hard in places with banging kick drums and such, this feels like a little step backward from that psuedo-angry style and thats a good thing to my ears.
didnt think we would still be getting prodigy albums in 2018 so kudos to the boys Excellent review, I share most of your points here mate.

It's still too early, I need more listens but I will NOT force myself to like it more than I do. Therefore, so far I think this album is somehow a continuation of a new trilogy which stated with IMD. This album is slightly different to the previous ones, at least Liam has tried new things, sometimes for good and others for worse but the sonic landscape is the same.
10 tracks: less fillers than TDIME. Here we have less "wall of sound" compression (even though I have only listened to it twice).
Probably this album might be the 4th one in my list after Jilted, Experience and Fat but I do not share some of the "usual" hype created here in the very first hours. IMD has not aged well for me and TDIME is too rocky and Maxim and Keith are too much involved, besides, the production is messy.
itunes ratings from 1 to 5 now would be;
Need Some 1: 3 (bad choice as first single, nice track as a b side...The Trick or something like that)
Light Up The Sky: 4,5 (great tune in a modern fashion, I don't mind its arrangement because I decided not to listen to Trawiss one so as not to mess my head)
We Live Forever: 4 (top tune with classic elements but Maxim's voice ruins it a bit).
No Tourists: a good surprise, nothing to get mad about but I like it. 3,5 or 4.
Fight Cocks With Cocks: 1. awful, trash, I'd like to delete it from my mind.
Timebomb Zone: 4,5. Currently my favourite and the track that I'll be showing my friends if I want to talk about the new album. it's not a 5 because a 5 must be something absolutely legendary. Might be in the future. Too short. Anyhow, there are producers doing things like this out there.
Champions Of London: 2,5 Usual track which do not add anything new. I' m tired of Keith, I am. Better than Run With The Cocks though. We have heard this type of track many times so far.
Boom Boom Tap: strange thing. I don't know what to say yet as I never listent to low fi live recordings. I can't even rate it properly. Maybe 2,5 / 3.
Resonate: 3. A little bit disappointed by the hype. I don't like the voice, the drums are nice though.
Give Me A Signal: By no means this is the best closer they've made. What are you thinking about??? Nevertheless, good track. a 3,5. The 303 is a bit forced. Claustrophobic Sting is the holy grail of closers.

Honestly the more i listen to Champions of London the better it gets. The tune and the brother culture line is stuck on my head.
Same cant be said about Boom Tap, i still vant feel the track. Its like Phoenix.

Its a solid extended ep stretched to an average album, glad we got it, for me fight fire is the strongest track in a long time, there might be a couple of growers on here and is better than last album but might’ve been better kept as an ep really

TDIME was really aggressiver and loud and this is more of a horror, d&b and rave album. I'm really liking the album so far but am too lazy to do a track by track review!

Yep. BMG also don't supply anything for Baltic states I've been to the local record store and It's all dry. Waiting on my online order from the official store.

I can’t understand any of these reviews that are less than a 6. There’s just no way in hell this album is “bad” unless you’re purely just looking for things to hate. The worst track here is Need Some1 and it’s not even that bad really - it has redeeming qualities that make up for the terrible main synth.
I’m leaning toward an 8/10 for this overall. Most of the tracks are much more energetic than majority of their back catalogue.
The production on this album is less polished and there is less going on - which is a good thing. IMD and TDIME have this weird overproduced vibe with too many sounds in each track. I honestly feel like the tracks on this album “do more with less”. I’m basically just saying that it is more “raw” in production and that that’s actually a good thing. Experience and MFTJG were raw and unpolished as fuck. That “demo” or “b-side” sound that people are picking up on actually makes for a better sound imo - Liam didn’t overthink these tunes, he found a great groove and didn’t spend 5 years overproducing it this time around. It’s not wall to wall eq’d-as-fuck sound like the last two albums.

freehandjunkie wrote: The legacy Liam and the rest created is quickly evaporating. They are becoming a parody of themselves. I'd hate to think the younger fans think this album and the others post AONO are what they are all about. This new one is dreadful, really amatuerish, not one single track is stand out, they all just merge into one big mess. They need to stop making music now. I read someone on here thought it's better than Jilted, that's enough for me. Shocking stuff. What a shame they've become so bad. It's crazy how some fans have such polar opposite opinions with this album, I think 8/10 tracks are bangers and I love all eras or prodigy from experience to TDIME. I live how this album seems to encompass the old skool and that heavy drums and bass.

Loving it so far! Rhythm bomb : i thought he had lost it forever with that "dance" approach, but now he shows he can still make killer dance tunes! Destroy was too weak, hospital and warriors dance a bit static beatwise. But timebomb zone is a true return to form. Also...No tourist....holy fuk

Timebomb Zone and Resonate are both my faves easily. When that Resonate synth kicks in at 55 seconds it's one of the best buzzes I've had from The Prodigy in years.
I can't get how many people don't like the vocals either. If you're still stuck the tune even tells you how to get into it properly :
1. Resonate and break them chain. 2. Let it resonate into them brain.
Hadn't listened to anything from the album for around 24+ hours I don't think and wondered if I'd gone over the top with my liking for Timebomb Zone, but nope still sounds just as good. Agreed with those saying it needs patience to properly get how much we like the album or not overall though.
One thing I do miss is an instrumental track, think it would've made the album more complete. It's not really a complaint about anything on the album though. I don't think there's any way that I'm going to be into all of the tracks after more listens but the high points easily make up for that I think.
edit : was thinking more of the newer tunes we've heard. My faves are 3 : We Live Forever, Timebomb Zone, Resonate.
