I can't even begin to imagine what Liam and Maxim are going through.

As for Liam - for the first time in about 30 years there is no pressure on him to produce anything, no live shows to prepare for. Nothing. It can be very liberating, but also very hard to cope with such a drastic change of pace.

I can see Liam going one of two ways. He could retreat into his shell and disappear, give up on music because either he has lost all motivation or it is too painful. Or, this could spark a new creative chapter, driving him back to the studio.

I remember reading that Keith was often the one pushing Liam to get back in the studio, particularly in the long wait for AONO.

I'm mourning Keith. I'm not yet ready to mourn The Prodigy. As others have said, the future of The Prodigy is now up to Liam and Maxim. They need time to mourn. They'll then need time to think about the future of The Prodigy. If they decide to end The Prodigy then so be it. If they decide to continue then great. It's hard to imagine the live show without Keith but that's not to say it couldn't continue.

Liam has said he writes music because it's what he loves doing so I'd imagine he will continue to release music. He may or may not decide to release it under The Prodigy name. He has been producing music with the live show in mind. Maybe that will change.

If nothing else, I'd hope whatever the release they had in mind for this year comes out at some point. It would serve as a tribute and/or as a goodbye.

Whatever Liam and Maxim decide for the future I will respect as it's their life, and band.
Though I can't help but wonder what else (outside dirtchamber) was on the pipe for 2019, and if that will ever be released or not.
There's no harder crossroad than this for the boys, so I'd understand if they chose to completely stop.
On the other hand, if they choose to continue they will be under the radar as "first release by The Prodigy after death of Keith Flint" which I don't know if Liam or Maxim would like.
Or it might be a good way to continue building the legacy for Keith and the rest of the band.
This all is so strange. Liam and Max know best.
Guess we'll find out in time...

I've been listening to classic Prodigy tunes all this week, they make me feel young and watching the Electronic Punks VHS again reminded me of how much I used to love these boys back in the 90's (I still do but I'm older, you know...)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yd7fsbS4r7g Electronic Punks full rip. COMPULSORY for every Prodigy fan.

In my opinion, The Prodigy as a band is over. It's sad to say but without Keith and the live thing I can't see them doing shows again and, as you know, Liam does not release music that easy (NT was an exception if we take the time gap factor into account)

Firestarter, Breathe and a few more will never be performed again, that's for sure.

I have the Firestarter cd single in my car as a tribute. That was the most important tune (not saying the best) they ever released, for sure.

It is very possible end of their gigs but I can't believe that Liam start to retire and will not write any music.

I don't know what will be with the prodigy, but I'm sure Liam will go on by writing music.

I watched that video so many times when I was a kid. I dunno how many pairs of socks I ruined trying (and failing!) to copy Keith and Leeroy's dance moves!

I’m hearing that KF’s funeral may well be a small private affair. Totally understandable given Keith’s distain for the limelight away from the stage. I hope we will get a chance to say goodbye publicly but unlikely. Many of the music monthly magazines are running big features on him and the band. I think they will be worth collecting to say one day ‘I remember’.

It will probably be all private.

But if it were up to me I would suggest a motorbike convoy escorting the hearse, with fans lining the route. The service itself being for close friends and fam only.

KF is in the better place now,
life is real hell...u must tell a lie, u cant cry...
man and woman doing shit to each other
no love, no respect...only money and gluttony...

woman pushing suicide buttons
if you are like KF...good, honest and rich with spirit.

I know it's way too early to speculate what will happen to the live shows BUT a couple far fetched thoughts have been circling in my mind.

1. A one last huge tribute concert for Keith. Knowing the band, this option might be something they would never want to do.

2. Comeback of the second original hypeman: Leeroy Thornhill. Keith's tracks should not be interpreted by anyone else, and most likely would be dropped from the setlist. But Leeroy could be a be a replacement for the "vibe" of the show and they could bring back some of the dancier tunes. But this also is something I think Leeroy might not want to do.

But who knows. Thoughts on this?

I can't see Leeroy coming back for anything other than a cameo appearance.

Keith vocal tracks could still be done using recorded vox I guess combined with video footage. Agree on avoiding anyone else trying to 'do a Keith'.

I can imagine Liam moving on to some other project though. My suggestion to him: Form a supergroup with the remaining Beastie Boys. Just don't expect a new version of Smack.

I actually thought the same and I would agree with you.

The thing is that I don't what sense would have The Prodigy by 2019 with Leeroy Thornill, but for me it would be great.
