regarding the DYF, some cool and dark sounds are there that I like but I would like a different beat, maybe slower

cheers,
G

That would be so cool :)
It must be at 00:30 local time there as just noticed through the festival's website

https://www.seastarfestival.com/en/timeline

Fingers crossed!

They blocked the possibility to comment. So... you know what that probably means.

The new track is just self repetition. Liam dropped the bin the all AONO because he dosen't want another FOTL. What happened now? He made Invaders series. That's my opinion.

Happy to have new stuff bubbling. A glimpse of the flavour. This track, if used will be there to keep the flow going.

I don't agree with this trend on hating the D&B style tracks. They're still leagues above most in the field.

Keen to hear more charismatic tracks if this is the starter course.

Well, We Eat Rhythm (VHS Mix if we prefer) is not really jungle but it has clear elements of it, more than any other Prodigy 90's track in my opinion.

Elements like? Jungle usually has Ragga vocals/samples and 140+ beats per minute breakbeats, predominantly using the famous 'Amen' break. If anything, the 'Jungle' version of 'We Eat Rhythm' has a lower bpm than the original version.

Hopefully the future Prodigy release(s) will contain at least recognizable excerpts from these so far only live or demo tunes:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOT5eJTwOz8&t=37s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8F9XgFuXf4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zPHO-VXpCI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=denpgURoYGg

:evilflame:

In other words, something more "Prodigy-like" than repetitive DnB what we have witnessed lately with some remixes and now with this Distrupt / Raise the roof.

Was not impressed at first with the new tune but now it deff grown on me. This feels like not finished material and deff not the lead single from the new album vibe. This could be a killer track 8 or smth from the new record. Just like Rok-Weiler or Resonate ended up.

Liam has never produced a Prodigy track that would be classed as the Drum & Bass or Jungle genre. The closest Liam has ever got to that sound was the The Magi & Emanation 'Everybody Say Love (The Prodigy Re-Mix)'. 'We Eat Rhythm' is not Jungle. The 'Jungle' remix is not Jungle either.

Boom Boom Tap is essentially a “jump up” drum & bass / jungle track. I think it’s one of the most quirky and interesting things they’ve done for a while.

I cant recall ever seen them play with moving visuals behind them like this before, seen them use video of themselves on stage but not like this?

I remember something like that from the 2009 UK / Invaders tour when I saw them at Wembley.

I remember reading an interview with Liam when he stated he was against screens / graphics. I guess that since Keith’s death they’ve had to adapt. It’s good to see them moving forward and trying different visuals.

I don't agree that it fits in the D&B/Jungle category. D&B and Jungle use very specific drum patterns and beats per minute. Apart from the Drum & Bass remixes, I'm not aware of Prodigy tracks being played in Drum & Bass DJ sets. Liam has said himself that he doesn't make Drum & Bass tracks.

You’re right to say it’s not typical or intentional but it has that sound regardless.
