every country has a proverb along the lines of 'it's always better somewhere else', but after a few years of living in different countries i've come to realise that everywhere's pretty much the same really.

every month thousands of ukrainians leave because they think it's shit here. every month thousands of brits leave the uk because they think it's shit there. does this mean that the uk and ukraine are both equally shit countries, or that thousands of individuals aren't happy in their own lives?

IMHO your reality is you and what's around you. it's all down to how you're feeling at the time really. ask someone with some close friends, a satisfying job, and who's just had a shag, what they think of their country and they'll tell you it's the best place on the planet. ask someone who's bored, lonely, and who hasn't had a shag for ages, and they'll tell you it's shit.

interestingly, people mainly seem to commit suicide in the richer countries of the world. maybe because the media there is always selling the idea of happiness through buying pointless products and being rich, and when people have them they still feel something is missing?

do something you're interested in, spend time with your friends, and have sex, and everything will be alright is the advice from this old timer!

been thinking about what you said, and just wanted to let you know that sometimes i write too much preachy shit and think i'm clever, without thinking about other people.
i'm sorry i don't really understand your situation and i can't really do anything to help you out. if i could i would, because i think you're all right. you've put me in my place for starters, and anyone who doesn't take shit from other people is cool in my book.

if it's any consolation, my dad killed himself a month before i was born, and later my mum married an alchoholic who shouted and swore at me for 8 long years until i managed to sell enough weed to leave home at 17. during this time we also moved and so i didn't know anybody at school. then, to make matters worse, i got a weird nerve system disease (guyan barre syndrome) when i was 14 that left me partially paralized (legs and lower back) so i couldn't walk for 6 months and was in constant pain. (i wish i was making this up!!!). this meant that no girls were interested in me, i couldn't go out with mates to clubs, and i walked with a limp for a year until i recovered. sexy!

what i'm saying is, i don't know your situation, but do know what it's like to fucked off with the world, so i understand how you feel.

the thing that saved me was doing a shit job and selling drugs, buying some technics and tunes, and then putting on parties with mates and playing in clubs for 10 years. you just gotta find something you want to do, concentrate on that, and forget all the other bullshit around you.

i'm preaching again, so i'll stop there. don't know if this helps, but it needed to be said. don't forget that you rock by the way!
