2005 for me
heard SMBU first on Charlie's Angels in 2000 (I was 11)
the track blowed my mind I remember, but couldn't get more of it as it was only a little part the track that I heard and I didn't know what artist/track it was either, so I just slightly remembered it
heard it again in Scary Movie 2 as it parodied the same part that in Charlie's Angels and took back the track
anyway, in end of 2004 one of my mates just gived me a CD of MP3s I asked him and he had added a few tracks from AONO, and said me "I think you could like this too, I really got into this at a time"
but I don't know why, the CD had a bug and the Prodigy tracks didn't work well, all I could see was that there were few titles like "spitfire", "girls" and others, but all I could hear when trying to play one of them was a bit of "spitfire" with its big crashing noise at the intro (actually thought it was part of the bug loll)
anyway, didn't think about it again for a while until summer of 2005, got to the house of that mate, we got into his basement and played the game Starcraft on computers (which I didn't really like actually )
he just decided to put back this album out loud, and it really mixed up well with the game (the futurist game and this banging electronic music), and Spitfire and Girls now really blew my mind (followed by Memphis Bells etc.)
so I asked him to do me again a CD with the tracks (on MP3), he gived me the full album plus the BGAT single (and I loved both)
later on he told me "hey you have to look at that video I just got"
it was the SMBU video, the track just blew my mind again (remembered it from Charlie's Angels ) and I found the video brilliant just to brilliant, so I wanted to get more of this group
I just did a guess, i wouldn't get more on MP3, just thought of buying all the albums without listening to them before, believing and hoping I would love most of their discography... I have bought them five (including Their Law) in their chronological order, too, actually and a fan since then
so thats my story...
must admit, first time I heard the albums, Experience disappointed me a bit and I really didn't like TFOTL (as I expected an album all like SMBU), but listening to them more and more I really got into them and into breakbeat too, btw

you don't have to
you're about the age of Liam himself and I think the Prodge guys just look very fine, don't y'all think so too?
anyway, that's only my opinion
I'd feel old only when all I could hear from the Prodge tracks is a flat tinnitus

It all started in 1997 with Breathe an Firestarter, but I became a real fan when I listened to the whole TFOTL album in 1998. I was one year late, but better late than never

Must have been somewhere in '97, when I first heard SMBU. The moment the beat kicked in I was a fan.

2002, I saw the video of Breathe at MTV, loved that synths and guys I discovered more and more stuff and I became a fan! In reality it's a very very long story which posted some time ago at the old forum ... was a kind of "luck" that I didn't only discovered Breathe!
