this is the latest as of 8 days ago...

Tested out P****** N********* tonight at some week-night West London event called 'Earth Rave' and it completely obliterated the place.

Only thing left to do is record the final vocals and then do a final mix (which won't take too long at all). For the nerds - the vocals will be recorded at our place through either Brauner VMA or U87, through an API 3124+ with an ATTY on the output, straight into the Aurora-16.

Its looking like we'll probably send the vocals away to get mixed - but we haven't chosen an engineer yet. I'd usually just do it myself, but its very hard to mix vocals and keep your objectivity if you're the one on the mic.

So I'll be finishing G****** (probably the first single) until then. We're a little behind schedule, but it'll be worth it at the end when people finally hear this album...it is so far sounding like some fucking space war alien funk symphony from the year 3712, that somehow travelled back through time and landed in 2007 by mistake...which is just how we like it.

The New Album: The last 12 months have seen Pendulum retreat to the depths of the underground to work on their second album: finding that using purely electronic sounds left something to be desired, they’ve fetched their guitars and worked on perfecting their ultimate sound - an electronic Led Zeppelin, a krunked up Soundgarden, Tool meets Timbaland, combined with the synthetic aggression and sonic purity of the original Pendulum sound.

The first single to be taken from the new album is also due for release in November, on Pendulum’s very own Ear Storm imprint (via Warner Bros / Atlantic) If you want to be one of the first to hear it along with other exclusive album tracks be sure to get yourself down to a Pendulum DJ set, check the calendar for when Pendulum are in your town.

Yeah they seem to be going way too much in the rock side of things. I love rock-inspired D&B tunes like Stompbox, Distress Signal, etc. But it still needs to be D&B at the heart of it. Like I said about a year ago, they seem to be following the Prodigy's path almost exactly, they both started in "dance" genres, then split off into more rock-inspired band music. By the next album after this one coming out they probably won't even be considered D&B at all.

Ooh - Pendulum have never been one of my favourite acts..to me their tracks sound too similar to each other. But this new preview sounds good -"an electronic Led Zeppelin, a krunked up Soundgarden, Tool meets Timbaland, combined with the synthetic aggression and sonic purity of the original Pendulum sound" - this part is promising 8-) I hope the new record really sounds that way.

Had enough of the cheesy Prodigy puns. No offence, but I've seen this one used a few times aimed at Liam, and the band.

Can't wait for the new pendulum, I don't care what direction they take, as long as they do it with they same awesomeness hold your colour is in.

Wow there's just NO excuse for that in Drum & Bass where there's loads of new tunes EVERY WEEK! That set list is seriously played out. There's literally like four tunes from 2007 in that whole setlist. Rest is from 2005/2006. That's pathetic. Anyways here's the set if you want it

I don't really care if they don't play their own new tunes yet, but that's still no excuse to rinse out the same tunes of OTHER people... especially when there's so much good stuff out within the last year. A few days after WMC in Toronto I saw El Hornet put on a fuckin massive 3 hour set playing all sorts of stuff new and old. I don't know why when they play the big shows they feel the need to play a really generic tracklist.

Yeah for sure. Also because of their stature they really can give some lesser known artists some good exposure. Take their mate ShockOne. They played his tune The Riddler on their 2005 Essential Mix. People were trying to track that tune down, and it only came out this year. He's had some other hits since then, and has a lot of good stuff coming out. His initial push from Pendulum definitely helped though. I'd like to see them help out more lesser known artists. I mean you're telling me Spor - Knock You Down wouldn't destroy it at a Pendulum show? But aside from that, even the big names all got new tunes which they ain't even playing.

Agreed, there's only a handful of people I know playing out mixes of new tunes... it's disgusting
