Great topic. Good to know people's "beginnings". :-D

I first got into liking the sound around early 90's. Got into the rave music scene (didn't attend any though as I was only 15/16) and used to listen to the tapes a friends older brother bought back with him. Very first tape I heard had a local DJ on and he played What Evil Lurks. Liked that, but wasn't a huuge fan of it: plus as it was an unknown DJ mix tape I wasn't aware that it was The Prodigy until years later.

Not long after Experience singles started getting released: Charly, Out of Space, Wind it up and these tracks appeared on more and more rave tapes mixed by DJs as well as their own PA copies: Death of the Prodigy Dancers is class! Loved watching the videos when they were on tv. I also started getting some of the "Rave On" etc, original unmixed commercial tapes which always (and still do) have The Prodigy tracks featured.

Bought 'No Good' as soon as it was released on 12" as I loved it, being a dance track, thought the vid was wicked and started collecting dance vinyl from around that time (even though I didn't have a record deck  ). Apart from No Good, I bought the tapes first as I was at school (6th Form) and had a walkman. Remember a friend buying Experience on vinyl and a few of us sat there in his room in the dark listening to the tracks. 8-)

I wasn't really interested in collecting all the singles on all formats at that time, although I did keep up my vinyl collection as they were released as well as buying the albums on cd.

Bought my first computer around 2002 and that was when I had the ability and money to seek out the much older (and now rarer) items of music that shops didn't stock anymore from mid-90's...and how I discovered BK. 8-)

The poll %'s are interesting. No one year dominates the responses, not even '96/97. They have higher %'s, but not like it's 30% or anything. I'm kind of surprised how many people have just become fans within the last few years. It's good though to see younger people just getting into them through AONO, or by finding their older releases.

I totaly agree with you BigS, it's that happen on me... But when you kinds of people in gigs of Prod, it's just young people(20 years about). Because when the oldest albums were released we were too young...

I saw some old skool fucks at Lokeren, Belgium :-D.

Seriously man like 3 guys in late 30's with Experience sweaters, one of them in a weelchair.
I only say respect.

I like to read these stories.
It's fun to read how someone got into the prodigy, really.

Very true... rather than %'s... I look at it in numbers...

19 prior to and since Experience

23 since Jilted

33 since FOTL

6 between FOTL & before BGAT (Dirtchamber era?)

9 between BGAT & before AONO

17 From AONO & Their Law up to today...

72 from FOTL and earlier, 15 after FOTL but before AONO, 17 since AONO

'96! I was only seven years old (and this was during summer time and my b-day is in october, so really I was mere six years old). My brother played for me MFTJG and the Breathe single, and when I heard No Good for the first time, I knew this was something I wouldn't get over quite yet. More then 11 years have passed and today i just celebrated that (and my recent birthday) with this:
