Actually they have never been such a big deal. I don't know what do people find so special about them. Hold Your Colour is boring - I hope the new one will be better but now I doubt...anyway this music has never been important or interesting for me

Pendulum have been quite a big deal actually. I have a magazine with a review on one of their releases long before Hold Your Colour was even released. People had them pinned for great things in the drum & bass community as well as the electronic music sector. Like several large drum & bass outfits today they attained quite a big following before they were even "big". Hold Your Colour alone was the biggest electronic album of the year when it was released, as well as one of the biggest albums of the year in the world that year. They're not my all time top fav. drum & bass outfit but regardless of their image among people across the world they didn't make it to where they are and move onto a major label based on nothing.
I haven't bothered hearing the new stuff yet, I know people are disappointd and I kind of said earlier I hope it wasn't going to be a HYC part 2 but they're obviously going with what works.. and why not? Not many people really rival them in drum & bass.. even forums outside of DOA want that Pendulum sound and it's a regular question even. It's not everyone's cup of tea but then again neither was Prodigy nor are they today. Perception is key, and right now this is one of those things in the industry where fans they made may split ways because they don't like the direction of the new material, it happens with every band.. all we can do is sit and wait.

Ta Timoté, some tunes I aint heard there.
Hopefully the pure shite that is granite wont tarnish my love for the Hold Your Colour era.
I seriously hope that the new album is good and granite won't appear on the album
edit: Oh my god, Follower Dubplate already knocks shade of shite out of granite.

Follower is so massive. Maybe if their new album flops they'll have to put out a CD of all their "B material" (aka the good stuff).

I've been listening to all their old stuff ever since the Granite debacle. Toxic Shock is so good, that tune will never die.

now that i've experienced Pendulums non-evolutionary music for their new album, granite isn't that bad to listen to.
It's just not good.

It's shit for Pendulum. If it was some band I had never heard of it might be alright, but for Pendulum it's shit. The same was Shoot Down for any other band would be ok, but for Prodigy it's shit.

i've been listening to distress signal alot latley and i honestly think it sounds fresher and newer than granite
distress signal in my opinion was more of a "This is a preview of were the new album is going" but it looks like they messed up evolution and ended up like a crocodille or what ever hasn't evolved since dino ages but thats what i think.
if we had a more advanced version around the lines of distress signal then we'd be kicking and screaming bout a new track in my opinion

Distress Signal is heavy. Not that it's some radically different style from HYC songs, but at least it was heavy. Granite just sounds watered down for the radio-friendly masses.
