Bono is also somewhat more political than the prodigy has ever been

Not everyone is for hire though. U2 have said they will only perform in front of ordinary fans.

I think it was for 'Pulp Fiction'.

U2's Bono has a £100 million personal fortune (I'm sure the rest of the band will also be mega rich). Remember that the next time U2 play a worldwide charity gig (Live Aid, etc) and they tell you to donate your money. They are giving their time for 'free' but as a happy bonus for them it also happens to increase their albums sales at the same time due to the worldwide TV audience! It's almost like the charity gig is a huge advert.

they may be ordinary fans but perhaps these guys at the gig were into the prodigy before they got famous and a dream of theirs was to see them live at like a secret small gig

i'd certainly have them round if i were rich lol

just wondering how much would you guys pay to see maxim cook somthing and say he's got no remedy this time

Indeed. Liam wearing God-awful white Crocs was much more "shocking" news than this

ermmm, which is only like "the most expensive city in the the world, for the second year running" "according to the cost of items including housing, transportation, food, clothing, household goods and entertainment:" USA has 5 in the top 50, which kinda shows how the world is moving nowadays. (full list here)

officially (well forbes say), 53 of the world's 946 billionaires are russian, unofficially, it's a lot more, which is pretty crazy when you consider that there were none in 2000. they stole pretty much all of it, and now lord it up, rubbing everyone's noses in it.

to give you an example of what they're like, there was a story in the news the other month from moscow about a guy who crashed his brand new top of the range ferrari sports on a traffic island when he was pissed. rather than waste his time having to wait around, he just abandoned it and fucked off, like you would a forgotten pack of cigarettes in a bar, and got another one later. ferrari wanted to close their moscow showroom down because they saw it as an insult...

these are the kind of uber rich wankers that were at the concert, and why a lot of russian fans are so pissed off. in fact you wouldn't believe how fucked off people are with them in general. this whole reaction to the prodigy concert is a way for people to get it out of their system really. it could have been anyone. it just happened that this concert was the last straw for a lot of people.

i think that's what the 'true_fans' were trying to say, but being russian, it all went a little crazy and emotional somewhere along the line and the message was lost in the heat of the moment....

If they wanted to test out new tracks without worrying about "the internet thing" then this would be the perfect place to do it. So there were fuck all people there, and they stood there like a bunch of donuts - who cares! Liam would do a gig like this purely for selfish reasons i.e. to test new tracks in the gig and at the soundcheck! I'm quite sure he didn't give a flying rat's arse about the corporate-suits there, he was probably too busy listening to new material and how it came across in the live mix. He's probably trying to avoid poorly recorded half finished mixes turning up on youtube and people going "sounds crap, needs work" etc!
Personally i'm pleased there's stories of low-key activity creeping out; re-done myspace profile, small gigs away from the public eye, a few hints at style ("The Supreme Excitement of Our Time", "New invasion of space shit") etc. It shows they're in a mindset and evolving between albums again - i'm looking forward to what gets spat out in 2008...
