Really? What about feb 2001

And 2004 infront of 30 competition winners and Radio 1 DJ's ?

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Thanks for the uploads. Respect there, as a live vid is a live vid, no matter the circumstances. 8-)

As for the gig: if we had the money or opportunity to go, we all would attend and you know it. Perhaps some of it is the fact it was all done in secret (?) and no 'normal' fans had photo opportunities or could get some pre-event buzz.

I dunno. What I do know is the official forum members are a joke if they had 4 pages of topics on the gig...altho those topics have now been deleted. Would be great if BK became the official site for news.

Some updated info & pics/ vids on MySpace wouldn't go amiss neither. perhaps some M/S member could leave a comment or send message through there ?

"closed gig in moscow - is that the end?" what a laugh.

The guy who wrote that has put too much emotions to the topic title. The thing is that it's a well known situation for Russia when some old stars of 80s and 90s play some "gig" over private parties or very outer Russian regions where people still remember the star. For example, I was on a corporate party last year and there was Bad Boys Blue and Eruption, bands from 80s. It's a clear sign of the "end" of career when you've have to play private and other kind of *low-cost* parties. I'm not talking about Prodigy. I doubt the secret gig was low-cost. The only sad to me that I'm not sure money would work for the new album. I put the music much more higher than the promotion. But that's IMHO. So, I really don't see any reason to be pissed off.

3-4 years without news? what the hell. anyone remember the days when you guys waited for fotl?

Well, 90s were full of news and releases from the Prodigy. Those years just blew mind away with singles before the FOTL is out. My first Prodigy CD was Everybody in the place - selected mixes, it was full of brilliant remixes. I doubt anyone could criticize Prodigy then.

But now we've got giant delays between albums, no singles, no remixes. We've got some crap news and some really doubtful tracks like tune for the Shadow. Emptiness gets filled with shit very quickly. So, I have no illusions why there is so much of bullshit around.

today you can't even post a pic without some guy writing - oh look, the new guitar player is gay - liam should do situps and workouts, maxim looks old etc. whats the point of all this? you mean if there's no news at all you should go make something newsworthy just 2 prevent BK from turnin into a very quiet place? is that the point?

Unfortunately, it's a natural process (the filling with shit). Moderation could do some little help, but there is no much of sense. The only thing could help, you will be surprised - music. If I was Liam I would do all the bets on the music. People should feel actual movements in the Prodigy studio. This could be an official internet release (no memphis bells please) of a new b-side track (no "shadow" please), or official remix of old material (or other band), unreleased new/old stuff, remix competition (finally). I'm not talking about revealing the new album material, I'm talking about being actually active between album releases. I would love to see a couple of pics from the studio instead some jerky Disneyland, I would love to read some interview without some shit questions about how cool is being Prodigy. Well, there is a million ways to get the control back for the band. Whereas doing any gigs with the old setlist is not gonna do any good for the band. You just can't play the same tracks over 10 years and count on success.

There's a fine line between moderation, dictatorship and censorship.
It's a free world, as is BK. You'll find there's little in here that gets deleted generally topic-wise. Reply-wise, they are all looked at and abusive stuff is normally removed, but people's opinions are not as a rule. If someone starts a shite topic or replys with shite, they are generally beaten down by other members telling them to STFU and stop posting crap anyhow.

Without writing essays on all this and even though I disagree with most of the things elevendcc said, I have to say that I really dont care about what the guys are doing when they're not "working". Things such as Ace's picture, L and his wife shopping or even the new one "Liamspotting" are ridicolous. I mean, WHAT. THE. FUCK?! I dont care. Just write the music, do a gig and i'm one happy camper.

Tell me about. I've been living in Soviet Union 10 years :) (though I'm pretty proud of this).

Actually, I was talking about closing topic, splitting topics to prevent people slide to moaning, dissing, and etc. It's a quite pain to read dozens of pages full of flame-full posts. FAQ would be also useful:

Q: Have Prodigy sold out?
A: Since Charly been released, didn't ya know?

Q: Is this the end?
A: Bush has confirmed.

Q: Is it true Liam's reading the forum?
A: No. He's posting only. See the offtopic selection, the dude's talking about taking piss in a bottle.

Everybody on here wants to discuss Prodigy's MUSIC. Once there's a new album or they start playing new stuff live this place will be flooded with topics and opinions about it. I mean I remember when Liam played the "Padova Fill" in 2005 everyone discussing that.. and really any musician on this site could have made that fill. But it shows we all want to discuss the music.

What are we supposed to do? Talk about Jilted? "Yeah so how about that tune Voodoo People... it's a good tune eh?" :? We've already discussed every possible facet of it that's possible. What's impressive about BK is that despite there not being any news for months on end, this place has still thrived. Like Jugo said, it's really a collective of like-minded people who share a common interest in The Prodigy, but which carries over to our other interests such as other genres of electronic music, films, videogames, concerts, etc.

Prodigy... private gig... money...

Yeah, it's pants. But Liam already did this in the past (the Madonna gig, the BMW commercial, etc).

This gig? It sucks. BUT think of it this way: how many of you would turn down a big fat paycheck? (In theory, maybe some would... but in practice, NONE!)

I have to say that this really surprised me, but glad for the downloads.

If Liam did it for the money who cares, at least he's working lol

Also I'd rather buy a cheap ticket and be with 1,000s of buzzing ravers than be at a small show like that and pay through the teeth for it.
After all it's about the buzz of the live show isn't it?

But Maxim's phrase "The smaller the crowd the more intense the buzz" Definately does not apply here :-D

I don't think the boys have sold out any of their principles with this gig, I'm just glad they're still doing what they do.

Thanks to those for the links. :)

It's okay to have it as a topic if it is interesting for anyone but my point is that it's a bit strange to discuss such things on 10 or more pages. This is just my opinion and I am sorry if anyone's offended. I just consider this band as a group of people who are making art(music) and not as a bunch of "magazine celebrities" which are watched 24/7 - what they buy what they eat, what they wear etc...I'm not into that stuff. Thanks

But if someone asked "Where's the new album ? What's the delay, etc"
Then you can say, well Liam's been spending time with his family as shown here >link<. I never posted it for a discussion..mearly a bit of info that was in the paper that I thought people might be interested in.

Quote:

So the VIP gig was of interest to you then?
maybe not 10 pages worth of "OMG, they're such sell-outs" etc but still news worthy on here.
I guarantee if you didn't know that and it came out during the next album release you'd be "Oh, did anyone know about this ?? Why wasn't it noted on the forums?"

You can't have it both ways mate. News is news....and if it's a little 'filler' before any track releases then so what? You don't have to click the topic
It's not as if we're stalking him and making an online diary of all their movements. It's bits that have been in the newspapers or discussed online elsewhere.
