Yeah, those DOA emoticons are ridiculous... ImageImageImage

Pendulum got me back into DnB as well. Until HYC, the last DnB album I really listened to was Roni Size's New Forms.

I don't know... I like the track. I've been banging it in the car since the promo rip was uploaded. But, I'm also more into rock music than electronic music. So, this kind of DnB appeals to me more. I just don't understand how people can be hating on this so much. The new album will be hated on as well just because of association with this track as well as being Pendulum. You cannot deny that so called "real" DnB heads hate on Pendulum just to hate, whether it's due to mainstream success and jealousy or what.

RE: Granite and UFOs? Yeah... I dunno. Maybe we're supposed to be throwing rocks at the little grey guys when we see them. I don't get it either.

I agree, there's so many elitist snobs who hate every DnB track which has the slightest bit of commercial appeal. Whether it's Pendulum, Sub Focus, Fresh, Concord Dawn, etc. Those people want DnB to be such a narrow field, not deviating from it at all. What they like is so obvious you can tell without even listening to a track if they'll like it or not.

I'm not like that at all, I love the range DnB currently has from dark stuff like Calyx & Teebee, to mellow stuff like Brookes Brothers, to jump-up stuff like Sub Focus.

A lot of people on there hated Pendulum before Granite came out, but in this instance I think their hate is actually justified. Although I disagree with them about a lot of stuff, I respect them for not wanting the scene to be diluted with cheesy pop, which I consider this to be. The fact that Pendulum continues to market their new stuff to a DnB audience, while at the same time going on the forum and essentially telling the entire scene to fuck off and that they don't care about them, and even admit that they have no clue what new DnB tunes are out there... well that just fucks a lot of people right off about them, myself included.

BigSugar: The best thing I love about the snobs is the "Pendulum have one lead sound and a snare LOL!!11!" This coming from an elitist of a scene that has used the same damn break for 10+ years at has to really move past it!

Yeah, Rob didn't really do himself a favor with that post. If he was smart, he would have just ignored the internet hate, especially from snobs on DOA. I wouldn't be surprised if artists they've collabed with and toured with in the past begin distancing themselves. He'd be better off to take a breathe and backpedal a bit.

listening to this track a bit more i like the intro the best.. the first 25 seconds are about the best. that haunting like sh-101 like sci-fi hip-hop line over a smooth hip-hop break is lush. too bad pendulum don't take their work into the world of trip-hop i think they'd have a nice position in there as well

Well, went and saw Pendulum (well, El Hornet) last night @ Rumble in Yarmouth.

All I can say is:

:slayer:

Funnily enough, didn't play Granite in it's 'released' form. But if what he did play is anything to go by, the new album's gonna be a corker.

interesting... was it the Dillinja mix? Dont think they should become an "albums" band.... they should go back to putting out more dubplates....

After seeing Pendulum live yesterday in Camden, I'd like to take back all the bad things I said about Granite. It was fucking brilliant live.

They played a new track from their next album too, it was called Propane Nightmare or something (can't remember). It was good but not as good as Granite.
