After seeing Pendulum live yesterday in Camden, I'd like to take back all the bad things I said about Granite. It was fucking brilliant live.

They played a new track from their next album too, it was called Propane Nightmare or something (can't remember). It was good but not as good as Granite.

God, after hearing Propane (check the Pendulum DL thread I put it up) I have officially given up any hope for them. They are fucking awful. I want to start a new topic just for the amount of venom I feel like spewing at Propane. The singer is fucking awful, who is it? Says Rob on their Myspace. He does it? Either way, what a fucking horrible track. Granite sounds brilliant in comparison to this. Can anyone site me an example of a band ever becoming worse from one album to the next? May they rot in emo-rock hell!

Rob Swire sung Granite, Propane Nightmare and Hold Your Colour last night so yeah it's him. I honestly thought it sounded good last night, no worse than half the tunes on AONO...

EDIT: I just listened to the Propane Nightmare download you put in the Pendulum downloads thread. It sounds like a rock song, not at all DnB, but it did sound a lot better live, or maybe it was just the alcohol... :P

Well that version of Propane was recorded Live at Maide Vale. I'm sure hearing anything live as opposed to hearing a radio rip sounds better, but either way sounds fucking horrible. Seriously recording that was the longest 6 minutes of my life. I just wanted it to be over. And just when I thought it was over... that accoustic came in and it kept going

It's fuckin gay emo-rock :emo: Listen to Wednesdays Radio1 show with Annie Mac in for Zane Lowe, they even talk about how all the fans lineing up to see them are gothed-out emo rockers. They're like "yeah it's wicked" Have fun with your new found emo-friends Pendulum... too bad they'll probably all have slit their wrists by the time the next album is out to buy it :teeth:

Keep Prodigy in mind with this.. Liam loved ska, grew up on it.. loved punk and ska.. Pendulum started out as a punk/rock band.. it's no surprise once they got a big record deal they'd go to what they used to do after getting their foot in the door. It won't surprise me at all if they try for a more rock style album now that they've gotten into the business. They've proven they can do drum & bass, but why do that when that's not what they originally did. Those bastards!

I will absolutely not keep Prodigy in mind. Never did Liam produce anything this wank. The day he does, trust me I will have choice fucking words for him. Liam used all his influences to produce amazing tracks, some of the best electronic/dance tunes of all-time. Just saying "oh I was influenced by so and so" doesn't give you a free pass to make shit tunes. They keep saying Led Zeppelin was a big influence, trust me I know almost as much about Zeppelin as I do about Prodigy. There is absolutely nothing in either of these first two tunes which you cite as being influenced by Zeppelin aside from the fact that each uses a guitar in the songs!

The fact that Pendulum started out as a rock band just proves why they failed at that. It's too bad Rob was such a good DnB producer so that he could backdoor his crap rock to the forefront.

As you can tell I hate these new tunes. Some people like it, ok fine. One thing I think is pretty undeniable is that Rob is a terrible singer. Maybe if they had a real lead singer they would be ok. I didn't really think about it when I heard Granite, I just assumed it was some guest vocalist they had. But if he's going to be the singer on the majority of the tracks, then the rest will be just as bad.

Check out this song by a Canadian band I Mother Earth. This is what I was more expecting them to sound like as a rock band. Still keeping their heavy riffs, and smashing it up. Listen to the singer too. That's what a good rock band sounds like, not this failed outback-garage nonsense.

What the fuck is this Propane? It's worse than Granite and that's saying something.

This isn't DnB. This is a fucked up rock tune. Not cool Pendulum, I hope you're reading this.

Sort your music out.

Ok here's what I don't get about Pendulum. Up until the release of Granite they were a strictly D&B group. Rob (Pendulum's producer) had specifically kept all the new material under wrap. None of the fans had heard it. But before it even came out all these "new" fans started showing up to their gigs. Fans that are not D&B fans. So if they had never played anything but D&B up until a few weeks ago with the release of Granite, where and how did they pick up all these new fans of their rock music???
