The new forum colour scheme looks more web 2.0 and curvy than the angular black, yellow and grey forum and its predecessor of grey. I wish people would try to understand why less is more rather than to downright criticize it and say it is shit from the very start of using it.
I can understand the arguments against white, which most of the time is its brightness, but have you all heard of a thing called Gamma? turn this setting down on your monitor and you wont have a problem whites being to bright on your monitor. seriously, try thinking toward a solution or a workaround before thinking of a criticism.
Simplistic colour selection is key to web design, user perception and friendliness; the black colour scheme was a bit 'grotty' for my liking. For example, navigating through the daily websites that i check, modern websites, such as myspace, facebook, google, bbc, hotmail all feature white with a selected 'secondary' colour(s). As for colour choice being 'unlogical', well, thats all down to personal opinion, not logic.
Darker coloured websites such as the previous brainkiller colour scheme and runescape, well lets just say its not very pleasing to the eye sometimes. especially with the runescape website, colour scheme used over there is muddy browns, not very nice at all to the eye.
At the end of the day, its not my place to judge if black or white is best, if you like the black scheme, I'm not saying don't use it. My say on the update is good job Brainkiller, I say, like with all websites, 'you'll get it right someday'. today feels like that day. or yesterday.
I will say this Brain if your looking, under the topic review section when posting a reply, a slight mistake has been made as posters names are in white, as well as the column headings (this issue was previously mentioned in this thread).
sorry for long and dull post.

I like the Black & Orange much more. I just like black forums in general more, and I really like our colour scheme. Haven't seen another forum with the same one. The white and blue one looks too much like a hundred other forums tbh. It's a good layout, I'm just not keen on that colour scheme. Ultimately, having the option to use either is the best, then it's up to the user to decide what they like. Black just seems more badass... the way BK should be

Other than the screen real estate being wider... I really see very little difference in the new forum. Is it just the pin stripping border on the sides? I don't get all the commotion.

also i've noticed, on the new forums when they added the bullets as the ranking signs the one on the AI2 (black one) looks a bit weird on it but it looks fine on the new one
