geeky is something that needs a little intelligence, and not very popular with cool dudes. think glasses, think lack of muscles, think not very popular with women, oh, and being impressed by things connected with computers. a good example is the guy in the video that elise posted here about the headtracking idea (who in my eyes is a geek, but is also a genius AND cool).
